Hello DoctorMartin, welcome to Wikipedia!

I noticed nobody had said hi yet... Hi!

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Wikipedia Boot Camp, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing!-- Alf melmac 18:37, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dear Alf, Many thanks for your kind (and rapid!) welcome - certainly helps me feel at home in the Wiki community. I have made about a dozen edits before (mostly typos, but a few bigger contributions), but thought it was about time I signed in properly.DoctorMartin 18:54, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm pleased at that, I think your first signed in edit was on one of my watchlisted pages (I watch all the Oxford college pages, amongst other things) where there some really fine active Oxford editors who are working on Oxford related things, I'm sure you'll become aware of them soon enough and feel at home. --Alf melmac 19:29, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Arthur Kenneth Barton

edit

I have removed your proposal for deletion of Arthur Kenneth Barton. This article has previously been the subject of an Articles for Deletion review (WP:AFD) where the consensus was to Keep the article. You can propose the article for deletion via AFD again if you wish. QuiteUnusual 20:41, 26 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
