December 2019 edit

  Hello, I'm CLCStudent. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Hermine have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the help desk. Thanks. CLCStudent (talk) 23:13, 10 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

  Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Elvis Presley. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted. Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. - FlightTime (open channel) 03:26, 11 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

  You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Joe May. - FlightTime (open channel) 03:29, 11 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Edit warring edit

  You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. - FlightTime (open channel) 03:31, 11 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Elvis edit

I mean you don't show up a week ago and assume you know how things should be. - FlightTime (open channel) 03:33, 11 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Good, discussion, now you're getting it :) - FlightTime (open channel) 03:41, 11 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

@FlightTime: Hello, I apologise that we got off to bad a start. I have stated my case about my revert in good faith on the Elvis article talk page and on your talk page. Do you have a problem if I revert your revert of my edit on the Elvis article? I appreciate the paragraph on your talk page and I understand that you may be busy from time to time so I’m not going to take it personal that you reverted my edit with just a simple “Nope” when I have a reasonable explanation why I was reverting an edit in good faith which is why I wanted to bring it to your attention that you have made a mistake (no experienced editor reverted my edit before you reverted my edit). Many thanks.--Doctor987654 (talk) 05:45, 11 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi, what are you talking about? edit

On my talk page, you said something about the Elvis Presley article? What do you mean? New3400 (talk) 19:57, 13 December 2019 (UTC) @New3400: Hi. Yes, I was referring to your edit on the Elvis article which I reverted in good faith. There is nothing wrong with stating a first name (or any name) more than once in a leading sentence. Use the Wikipedia search function and type into it “ also known mononymously as” or “known simply as” and you will see that there are several articles stating someone’s first name more than once in the leading sentences of the articles. I left a little message on your talk page because I didn’t want there to be any hard feelings between us.--Doctor987654 (talk) 22:52, 16 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

dude, thats not me. thats someone else! my edit is still there. im the wrong guy. New3400 (talk) 22:55, 16 December 2019 (UTC) @New3400:Sorry. I made a mistake, I do apologise.--Doctor987654 (talk) 22:58, 16 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

I accept your apologies 👌next time, look at who made the edit. New3400 (talk) 00:24, 17 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
