February 2021 edit

  Hello, I'm Donner60. I noticed that in this edit to Israel Houghton, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Donner60 (talk) 03:59, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi, this is my first edit, can you assist me in removing non factual information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by District11entertainment (talkcontribs) 04:07, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yes. Follow the conflict of interest guidelines and declare that you are CoI editor and probably a paid editor, then make edit requests on the article's talk page. Indicate what is wrong and how it should be changed like {xt|Please add the six Grammy's he's won: {list of awards with a source for each} to the musical career section.}} You do not need to put it into the xt template, just type. Be sure to be clear what you want added and what the sources are. Again, I will ask you to stop removing sourced content just because it isn't the image you want your artist to present. Failure to do so may result in a permanent block. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:59, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
So edits like this have to stop. Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:02, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

  Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Israel Houghton. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:48, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Israel Houghton, you may be blocked from editing. Removing unflattering but sourced details about your artist is inappropriate. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:50, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

  You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Israel Houghton. You would need a reliable source to support the addition of your artist's birthrate. It is a requirement all biographies of living people. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:52, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

It’s not artist image, it’s non factual information. Please remove. District11entertainment (talk) 05:10, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

If it's non-factual, could you please point to the retraction that The Christian Post wrote to https://www.christianpost.com/news/israel-houghton-child-support-case-reportedly-dropped.html where they wrote "Houghton has not publicly spoken out about his two youngest children, Kingston, 4, and Khristian, 2, that he allegedly fathered while in his first marriage to now ex-wife Meleasa Houghton. However, his representatives did assure The Christian Post that he was financially providing for the children."? Without a retraction, that content is valid. Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, District11entertainment. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Israel Houghton, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. When you wrote We are Israel's new management company, we changed his label and updated his website you revealed that you were in a conflict of interest. Please read the guidelines and adhere to them. Thank you. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:47, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

You are reporting incorrect information, his bio, website and musical career is incorrect. Stop. — Preceding unsigned comment added by District11entertainment (talkcontribs) 04:49, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
The content you are removing is sourced. The content you are adding is poorly sourced. Perhaps you could follow the CoI guidelines and declare your conflict and paid editing here, then discuss on the article's talk page. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:54, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

February 2021 edit

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. — JJMC89(T·C) 05:21, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
I would also like to note that you as an editor would still have a conflict of interest when unblocked and as such you should not be editing any of your artists' pages directly. Only do so through requests on the talk page. Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:24, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
