PS I'm sorry I had to revert your edit re Sarah Palin, but we are an encyclopedia, not a Gossip column and we only add stories when they have been confirmed. Please read WP:BLP before making further edits to biographies of living people. ϢereSpielChequers 14:16, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Palin

edit

Spreading unsubstantiated rumors -- even debunked rumors -- on a talk page of a biography of a living persons violates WP:BLP guidelines. --Coemgenus 21:16, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please be more specific. If others raise the issue, I can state an opposing opinion as to the factual accuracy. Digitalmandolin (talk) 21:18, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
No, we editors don't state opinions as to factual accuracy; we include relevant data from reliable sources, sources that have, themselves, determined its accuracy. You should read WP:BLP and WP:RS -- those pages explain it better than I could. Coemgenus 21:48, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
You are not being specific. If there is something I did you do not like, please point it out. I can, of course, state opposing opinions as the factual accuracy of statements made by other editors. Please don't tell me what to read. Digitalmandolin (talk) 22:21, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
I wasn't telling you want to read, I was just suggesting some ways you might familiarize yourself with the way Wikipedia works, especially with regard to the article you've been editing, which falls under the WP:BLP guidelines. Happy editing! Coemgenus 22:56, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the suggestion and lack of specificity. *grin* Digitalmandolin (talk) 23:05, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, honestly, if I thought there was something you shouldn't be putting on talk pages, I wouldn't repeat it on another talk page, would I? Coemgenus 23:07, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
