June 2008 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Aleda shirley has been reverted. Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\bblogspot\.com' (link(s): http://kingfish1935.blogspot.com/2008/06/aleda-shirley-has-passed-away.html) . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thorougly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creators copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! Speedy deletion of Dark Familiar edit

A tag has been placed on Dark Familiar, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. NuclearWarfare (talk) 04:06, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dark Familiar edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Dark Familiar, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.smarter.com/poetry/dark-familiar-poems/pd--ch-1--pi-2081629.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 14:01, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I don't understand why the page I attempted to create, Dark Familiar, has been protected. I tried four times to add information that described the book. The first time I posted reviews and a synopsis, as well as ISBN numbers and prices for both hardback and paperback, and I was told that it was spam. I took the prices out, and the page was deleted. Then I put in a very scaled-back version of what I'd posted before, with just a few comments about the book, and the page was deleted. Then I decided that I couldn't put anything in without it being deleted, so I just said that it was a book by Aleda Shirley, published in 2006. Now THAT has been deleted and the page has been protected so I can't add anything to it. What gives? It's like you don't want any information about the book in your archives. I'm not selling anything. Dark Familiar was a critically acclaimed book of poetry by a woman who died on June 16, 2008. What needs to be done so that information about the book doesn't get deleted as soon as it's added? Dgartner (talk) 02:46, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
