Re: Complaint about a user edit

Hey, I hear your concern that user clearly mentioned that how times i change it he would revert it back. So i saying it would do nothing. So i think this sort of action should be taken by admin.--SkyWalker (talk) 03:06, 26 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

You can contact User:Xenocidic. He is a very helpful and a good admin.--SkyWalker (talk) 04:25, 26 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
Good, Then they will take of him. Btw do you have the link so i can see it too?--SkyWalker (talk) 04:31, 26 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
I see. Well now you have to wait for Xeno to come online. --SkyWalker (talk) 04:59, 26 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yup i been watching. Though from looking at his contrib, He is behaving very badly and i feel he may do it again. --SkyWalker (talk) 15:55, 26 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
Nah, You don't need to report it again. The admin will be watching him. Incase the admins are not doing i will report it again. Don't be afraid of that. There is nothing to worry about. What else can he do to you?. If he threats you or does personal attacks to you just feel free to complain to admins again or to Xeno. --SkyWalker (talk) 16:05, 26 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

warnings and report edit

Anyone can warn other users, you can go see WP:WARN and after final(level 4) warnings, you can report it to WP:AIV MythSearchertalk 09:40, 11 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I appreciate your concern about the vandal, but I am not an admin. Most of the warning tags can be found here. [1] Edward321 (talk) 14:17, 11 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Reporting a Vandal edit

(copied from WT:AIV) I don't know if this is the right place but I'd like to report a vandal User:Kagato9999 they have continually made unconstructive edits to the article List of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 mobile weapons, and I was wondering if you could deal with them, thank you. Deus257 (talk) 16:54, 11 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi Deus257,
The place to report a vandal is actually at WP:AIV, not at the talk page. So, I've removed your question from there, and moved it here. I've warned the user, and if he does it again I'll block him from editing. If I'm not around, you can report it at WP:AIV, and another admin will take care of it. Unless it's some kind of emergency, most admins won't block someone until they've had at least one warning that includes a mention of blocking if they don't stop. --barneca (talk) 17:02, 11 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ok Thanks. Deus257 (talk) 17:12, 11 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Tylerwade123, who has been blocked multiple times is repeatedly adding original research and personal opinions to the Lunamaria Hawke article. He is also misrepresenting a source that says this character came in 4th in a fan poll for which Gundam Seed character people would most like to see in a swimsuit, using wording that makes it sound like they came in 4th in a poll of all Gundam characters. He also keeps deleting a cite to the official website and replacing it with a link to the Anime New Network. Please take a look at the article and see. Edward321 (talk) 06:00, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hm, yes I can see he is quite the unhelpful editor, and using his IP to add them back which I must say are rather unconstructive, I believe thats grounds for permanent blocking from editing, you should tell an admin so they can get rid of him. Deus257 (talk) 06:11, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Warning users edit

To warn a user, pick the appropriate template from here. [2] Copy-paste the appropriate template into their talk page, replacing 'article' with the actual article name. And, of course, sign it.

I have already warned 69.180.145.190 for the 2 edits you reverted. I started at level 2 considering his track record, but gave it for both edits. Most likely templates that you'll need on the linked page would be 6.2 Three Revert Rule and 6.10 Incorrect Information. Also of possible use are 6.9 Deletion, 6.23 Unsourced, and 6.26 Vandalism.

For each new problem edit, I typically give another warning of the same level (if it's a different article) or raise the warning a level (if it;s the same article. When warnings reach level 4, the editor can be reported for vandalism (Mythsearcher showed me how, and I'll mention it once you've had a little experience with giving warnings).

Based on previous experience, a lot of admins are not familiar with anime and will sometimes dismiss things as being merely content disputes. So it's best to actually report the problem user when they vandalize a non-anime article - for example, I reported 69.180.145.190 for vandalizing Presidential transition of Barack Obama back in December. I'm hoping these latest warnings will make 69.180.145.190 realize what he is doing wrong, but after the 5 blocks they have recieved so far, I am not optimistic. 69.180.145.190 again edit

He's pushing his original research again, see the edit history of Gryps Conflict. Edward321 (talk) 15:04, 15 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Report him to a mod you know will deal with him properly, im getting the warning thing down though, although unless I can ban him it won't really help. Deus257 (talk) 02:03, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Character list changes edit

An new user has boldly reworked List of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED characters. I was probably too wordy in comments on the editor's talk page, but I thought the previous organization (by faction) would be easier to source, while the current organization would be much harder to source. Either way, please comment about the changes and which version you feel is better. Edward321 (talk) 04:49, 18 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

An editor using 2 different IPs has been repeatedly editing Athrun Zala, adding claims that director Fukuda has made certain statements about the character, but their only source is a couple Youtube videos. So far they've added this 6 times, but don't seem to be understanding the concept or reliable sources. Edward321 (talk) 04:45, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the quick response. I would appreciate an extra set of eyes on the article; after 5 failures they finally figured out that not adding links to Youtube means the Bot that removes links to Youtube wouldn't revert them. They still don't seem to grasp the idea of reliable sources. Edward321 (talk) 04:58, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Gundam Seed Destiny edit

There is a proposal to merge the Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny articles. If you have an opinion, feel free to voice it in the discussion. [3] [4] Edward321 (talk) 14:37, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

An editor keeps adding false information to Animage] claiming it comes from the Japanese Wikipedia. Animage's actual website shows their edits are wrong. An extra set of eyes on the article would be appreciated. Edward321 (talk) 00:37, 28 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Will do, I'll make sure they don't add any more false info. Deus257 (talk) 01:24, 28 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
