Repetitive promotional edits

edit

Hi, just wanted to let you know it's not useful to add almost the same text to multiple articles, essentially promoting Brice Stratford's book, New Forest Myths and Folklore. Please see WP:PROMOTE. Simply saying that a particular person or tradition 'features' in the book adds nothing useful to the encyclopedia. I'll be reverting many of those edits, and I suggest you focus on more substantive additions. Also, please don't mark edits as 'minor' unless they are for really small things such as spelling corrections and the like. Regards, MichaelMaggs (talk) 17:45, 16 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm MichaelMaggs. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Puck (folklore) have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. MichaelMaggs (talk) 17:48, 16 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
