License tagging for Image:Rme04.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Rme04.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 13:10, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

I got the guidline revisions from Tearlach already. Maraming Salamat Po (Thank You Very Much).

Thanks for uploading Image:Rme004.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you uploaded the same image twice: as Image:Rme004.jpg and also as Image:Rme04.jpg. The latter copy of the file has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and remember exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 14:47, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image copyrights

edit

Please could you clarify the copyright status of the images you posted of the Marikina City procession. You have asserted that you are the creator of the images and release them into the public domain, but many of them are credited to other photographers such as Myron Mariano, Ronnie Reyes and Eric De Guzman. Tearlach 20:53, 29 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please don't restore the gallery at Holy Week Processions in Marikina City until you have answered the copyright question. Tearlach 10:23, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the note, and sorry about the misunderstanding. You need to make this permission clear in the image descriptions. Instead of {{PD-self}}, the template to use is {{PD-author|name}}. I've converted Image:Rme01.jpg to show the kind of thing. Tearlach 19:17, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Tearlach, Thanks for the assistance. =)

A tag has been placed on Jed Santos, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Non-notable/unremarkable person

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Tito Pao 12:37, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:OLA Spain.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sdrtirs (talk) 10:19, 5 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Rme035.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Rme035.jpg is a duplicate of an already existing article, category or image.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Rme035.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Proposed deletion of MCA Music Inc.

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article MCA Music Inc., suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Misrepresentative page. "MCA Music Inc" is misnomer and not likely for a redirect.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Problems with upload of File:SMTT For Wikipedia.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading File:SMTT For Wikipedia.JPG. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or provided a license tag. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, select the appropriate license tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you can't find a suitable license tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 09:05, 23 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:SMTT For Wikipedia.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading File:SMTT For Wikipedia.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 04:58, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of Vicor Music Corporation

edit

The article Vicor Music Corporation has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

does not seem to meet GNG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
