Welcome!

Hello, Deiv007, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} after the question on your talk page. Again, welcome!

Well, this is customary. And even though I felt like welcoming you with Khistis, I cooled myself down. :) Anyways, welcome. And do not be rough on the wiki or it wont be long before you get banned. Me, especially, will be keeping both eyes on you, as often as I can spare them :D. --Soumya da. --soumtalk 14:11, 14 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please dont sign on article pages. Signing is only for talk pages. --soumtalk 14:29, 14 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Every article here has an article page and a talk page (look at the 2nd from top row - it says 'Article' and 'Discussion'). The article is the article, talk pages are for discussing the article. Similaryly each user has a 'user page' and a 'discussion' (talk page). This is your talk page. --soum (0_o) 09:31, 26 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Click on my name to go to my user page. And then click on discussion for my talk page. There, click the '+' sign on the top page to leave any message. Or if you want to add to any previous message, click 'edit' next to it, go to the end, and write. For headings, use == Heading == and === subheading 1 === or ====subheading 2==== and so on. Sign with ~~~~. --soum (0_o) 09:36, 26 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

A request

edit

Hi,

Thank you very much for posting the image of Scottish Church College.

Could you also post pictures of the following:

Suchitra Mitra, Nirad C. Chaudhuri, Brajendra Nath Seal, Dhan Gopal Mukerji, Honourable Mr. Amal Kumar Sarkar (former Chief Justice of India), Biraja Sankar Guha, Pankaj Mullick, Suniti Kumar Chatterji, Binay Ranjan Sen, Subhas Mukhopadhyay, Manna Dey, Mithun Chakraborty, Bani Basu, Jagmohan Dalmiya and Lord Dharam Bir 'Bill' Lall as well. I know that it is a tall request, but I have not been able to do so myself as I faced problems with my connection and copyright issues.

Thank you again, Byomkesh Bakshi 01:39, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

David, upload a larger edition of the image of Scottish Church College. --soum (0_o) 05:57, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Balurghat-Airport-RGH.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Balurghat-Airport-RGH.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. The Evil IP address (talk) 09:16, 18 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
