You're welcome. I am fairly interested in the dioceses as well, so chances are that we will probably cross ways while editing sometimes. As you said you've done some research already, maybe you'd like to review my articles on the dioceses in Thailand, as well as the Thai bishops? It seems that only the dioceses in the US are quite well covered so far, as well as the current cardinals, but for everything else there's a lot of potential for you to write new articles. But be careful - Wikipedia is addictive, but also lots of fun (unless when its so crawling slow like now). andy 11:27, 16 September 2005 (UTC)

Bishop Alfred_Seiwert-Fleige

Hello, you are a member of the Wikiproject Catholicism.We would appreciate your help. Please take a look at this article about the catholic bishop Alfred_Seiwert-Fleige . Users deleted sources and tried to force their anti-catholic POV on it. They banned many people that tried to add sources. They didnt block me or Eastmain, but they deleted our sources we gave too. It appears that they don't like this catholic bishop.

This is just an attempt to provide a simple list of the pages that typically need to be updated upon the death of a Cardinal:

• Personal page of the Cardinal (various)
• Page of his archdiocese or curial office (various)
• List of living cardinals

adjust "as of" date

adjust total number of cardinals (and voting number, if appropriate)

adjust "last cardinal to die" entry

adjust Cardinals by continent table

adjust country list, if appropriate

adjust Cardinals by sui juris church, if appropriate

adjust the summary table (cardinal rank by pope)

remove cardinal entry from the main table

• List of titular churches in Rome

change entry: add "vacant (Death of..."

• College of Cardinals

update date and numbers under "Choosing the Pope"

update date under "Members of ..."

remove entry from the table

adjust "Cardinals by nationality"

adjust "Size of ..."

Workload

David, just one question, please: How in the world do you find the time to run catholic-hierarchy.org and do other things(like Wiki) at the same time(I've admired the job you do on CH for years and always had that question)? My other projects (namely the main website) do keep me rather busy (not to mention my day job!). I have literally years worth of data entry ready to go that I have not started yet. I usually keep several mini-projects in work at the same time, so I can switch between them as time permits. (Currently for the main website, I'm working on the old PEM; contact info and stats from AP2011; Hierarchia Catholica v4; and the ever present current events.) I try to keep an eye on things here on Wiki, but I just don't have the time to spend on it. Although if there is an article/issue that needs my attention, folks are welcome to mention it - no promises that I'll be able to work on it, but I'll try.--Dcheney (talk) 14:21, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

Titular Sees

For current titular sees, a rough suggestion of their location is provided (usually province and/or metropolitan) on the site. If you are looking for a better source, I'd recommend the book Index Sedium Titularium Archiepiscopalium et Episcopalium, published in 1933, but its very difficult to obtain. It contains 3 color maps showing the locations of most titular sees at that time. To the best of my knowledge, it is not available anywhere online. --Dcheney (talk) 23:02, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

The Index is listed a couple of times in conjunction with the gcatholic.com website, no particulars; just that it is a document issued by the Congregation of Bishops in 1933. It's not required. However, if you have a scanner with you (or if someone else brings one and you can share), it just means you'll get to spend your time scanning the historical documents. As long as you have a computer, though, you can edit articles related to the theme of the event. The idea here is just to have a fun time while sharing knowledge. :-) Judging from the e-mailed RSVPs, there may be several other people coming who have little to no Wikipedia experience at all, so you might get a chance to do some teaching, too. For Diocese of Superior, Wisconsin Bishop Reverman, his middle name is Henry. At 'find-a-grave' the headstone shows the H and Henry is shown in our diocese centennial book. At Theodore H. Reverman I made the correction for Wikipedia.

Eastern Catholic suffragans

I noticed that the Archd of Agra has two Syro-Malabar suffragans in addition to the Latin Church dioceses. Now how does that work exactly? There is no Archeparchy of their own church to report to? What authority does the archbishop exercise? Elizium23 (talk) 20:04, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

On a practical basis, I have no idea. Would be a canonical mess. I just ran a query and found one mistake that will be fixed in the next build (Zahleh e Furzol, Melkite). But other than that, there are 17 cases where a diocese is under a different rite that its metropolitan - in all cases the metropolitan is latin rite. 10 of those are Syro-Malabar.
