By all means feel free to put whatever you want on your userpage, but will you please, please, please, stop recreating Speed Queen Washing Machine? --אריאל יהודה

SQWM

edit

What seems to be the problem? This is a band that I like and I think that more people would as well, also I'd like to know what other people can say about the band. Daviddec 03:44, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

The "problem", as it where, is that wikipedia has standards. Just as not every person in the world is noteworthy enough to warrant a page, so it is with bands. Wikipedia has published WP:MUSIC which lays out guidelines for bands, and suffice it to say that SQWM doesn't make it. Because of this, admins (not being an admin I can't do this even if I were so inclined), have deleted the page you keep putting up on multiple occasions. For some reason you keep recreating the page, assumably in the hopes that each time no one will notice it and it will escape deletion. At this point the page has been protected by an admin (again, not me), so it cannot be recreated except by another admin. --אריאל יהודה 15:39, 14 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

You need to evaluate your actions

edit

This is (obviously) in regards to Speed Queen Washing Machine and Dr. Mayhem and The Electric Teeth. You have repeatedly been informed that these entries are not appropriate for this encyclopedia. Every time you have tried to create them, they have been deleted, and for good reason, as the subject fails to meet Wikipedia's standards of inclusion. As you have been informed of this more than once, and as every attempt has resulted in deletion, any further attempt to include the article outside of your user space will result in an immediate block from editing for vandalism. This includes plastering the material on talk pages. Additionally, trying to get a reaction out of me by posting junk on my talk page or by email will be ignored and reverted, in case you have not guessed that yet. If you wish to continue contributing to Wikipedia, you need to stop what you are doing.

In the meantime, I suggest you familiarize yourself with our standards of inclusion. Read our welcome page, what Wikipedia is and is not, and the Manual of style. I look forward to productive content from you. If not, you will be blocked in full accordance with Wikipedia policy. This is your only warning. Regards, --Jeffrey O. Phish Movie

edit

Yes I looked at the link and I couldn't even find reference to the film on the Phish site. I've put out CD's and I'm not putting them on wikipedia. Put it at the end of the Phish article if anywhere and be done with it. No-one looks at the Tracking article to find this obscure doco. Jgritz 05:45, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

User page

edit

You are well aware of the discussion of this on the Administrators' user page and I would direct you back to that. Brookie :) - a collector of little round things! (Talk!) 09:47, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

It also says, "Note that using the text to recreate the deleted content is speedyable, and using it to keep it hanging around in your userspace has gotten editors penalized before. But that's your problem." - as it has been speedied twice already it's best it stays that way. Why not put something less controversial there instead? Brookie :) - a collector of little round things! your deleted user page

edit

Hi - I don't pretend to understand why you want it, but I've put the text of your deleted user page at User:Daviddec/vandalism. Feel free to rename (move) it if the name is not to your liking. I don't know if you've read Wikipedia:User page yet, but one of the things it mentions is that wikipedia is not a free web host. I suggest you copy this content elsewhere for safekeeping and mark the page for speedy delete (as described at Wikipedia:User page) when you're done. I'd venture a guess that if you don't do this fairly soon, someone will list it for deletion at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion. -- Rick Block (talk) 00:50, 17 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Deleted article

edit

Here is the basic text of the article that was deleted. I advise you to improve it greatly before resubmitting anything:

This is Mike Gordon's third (for purchase) and latest movie. Allen Woody, the deceased bassist for the band Gov't Mule, is paid homage to in this movie about bass players. Through different analysists of sound on humans and why bass is what it is, Mike has created a genuinely interesting film.

Tracking (video)

edit

Hello. Both Phish and the album Hoist are named in the first sentence. The connection is clearly established. The reason the album's title is repeated after the block quote is not to link the album with Phish; it's to clarify the reference to Hoister in the block quote. I added the square-bracketed, italicized sic to the block quote in order to finesse that following sentence and tighten the article. As far as I'm concerned, the block quote itself could also be shortened; after the first nine sentences, there is nothing of encyclopedic value, only a lame attempt at humor that manages to be both condescending and sophomoric. Thanks. --ForDorothy 13:38, 3 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
