Proposed deletion of Vegan Congress

edit

The article Vegan Congress has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not appear to meet WP:NCORP, in particular WP:AUD; the coverage listed is all local (campus radio, Vancouver edition of the Straight, Inside Vancouver), and I'm not finding broader coverage.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Objection to proposed deletion of Vegan Congress

edit

Hi Nat Gertler! Thank you kindly for your warm welcome and encouragement to continue developing my contributions according to Wikipedia's guidelines. I have read Your first article and am currently reading WP:NCORP standards.

My concern, with respect to WP:AUD, is this: The Vegan Congress article indeed has received attention from at least one regional source, demonstrating an "indication of notability". The Georgia Straight in particular, which does comply with the standards of regional recognition ("a region such as a city, or part of a large city") has 61% of the market share of Vancouver's average adult weekly readership[1], with 68% of 30-39 readership.[2] And I don't believe this is even factoring in global online traffic and readership.

I apologize if this is an informal method of response but as I'm sure you are aware, I am a newcomer but willing and eager to learn.

Thanks!

Thank you for sharing your reasons for the proposed deletion to me. The next step that's appropriate for you is to simply delete the Proposed Deletion tag from the article, as that's only for uncontroversial deletions and you're controverting it; I will have to consider whether my objections are enough to support taking the article through the more stringent deletions process. (If I, or any other editor, chooses to do that, please realize that that case differs; you can stop a "proposed deletion" by deleting the tag, but you are not allowed to delete an "article for deletion" tag, as a discussion process must be complete.) --Nat Gertler (talk) 00:58, 23 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
