April 2021 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. GirthSummit (blether) 12:45, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi - further to the above, I see that you are writing about the company, and I assume (from your username) that you are affiliated with them. Please familiarise yourself with COI and PAID - you may register a new account, but these policies will still apply to you. Best GirthSummit (blether) 12:48, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi thanks for changing my name, however how come I'm still blocked? Darren at Fluxim AG (talk) 13:36, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Darren at Fluxim AG, I didn't change your username - that was someone else. You haven't requested an unblock, as far as I can see, but since the username is now acceptable I'll go ahead and unblock. Please ensure you read and comply with those links I've given you however. GirthSummit (blether) 13:40, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Fluxim/sandbox edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on User:Fluxim/sandbox, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi I'm a new user and I don't understand why an article that hasn't been published (it was in my sandbox) has been deleted? I also used the exact same format of a page that is published on Wikipedia Zurich Instruments How come this page is allowed and my unpublished one wasn't?Darren at Fluxim AG (talk) 13:41, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Darren at Fluxim AG, I wasn't the deleting administrator, but my guess would be that they felt it was overly promotional, and your improperly declared connection with the subject probably weighed against you. Your username makes the connection fairly obvious, but the correct way to declare your connection is described at WP:PAID, which I already gave you a link to. Editing about your employer without correctly declaring your connection to them is a breach of the terms of use of this website. Please read and absorb those links before proceeding to do any further work here. GirthSummit (blether) 13:48, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
