Your edits are in good faith edit

... but you've misformatted the links in the articles on Mosley and Nisi. See what I did to correct these, for future reference. --Orange Mike | Talk 01:26, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please see our Manual of Style for things like: short fiction is in quotes "Like This: A Note"; novels, films, and websites are in italics Like This: An Extended Rant. We also very strongly discourage external links to books, personal websites of people who don't have articles about them in Wikipedia, etc. --Orange Mike | Talk 01:43, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
By the way, based on the articles you're editing, have you ever considered coming to WisCon? Even if you live far away, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience for somebody interested in these kinds of writers! --Orange Mike | Talk 01:43, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Duh - nevermind; just read your userpage. Look me up when we're at the next one (I was in the Concourse yesterday afternoon, reveling in the thought that WisCon was just a few weeks away). --Orange Mike | Talk 01:46, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
It's even possible that you remember me. I gave you a pair of orange salt and pepper shakers. And last year I was wearing a loud orange "Tiptree" T-shirt one day (which was from an English soccer team sponsored by by Tiptree jams :-) Darrah (talk) 01:49, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Oh, yeah!!!! (I must warn you, I have advanced powers of forgettery: I try to use them only in the cause of Good!) --Orange Mike | Talk 02:06, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Category:Brazilian science fiction writers edit

No worries at all, it was a speedy deletion almost 6 years ago, I don't remember it and the category isn't empty anymore. James086Talk 18:18, 13 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Vi Hart: Mathematical Artist edit

Hey Darrah, I don't watch Vi Hart's videos, but the content of the Wikipedia page makes no mention of geometrically artistic works created by Vi Hart. Do you happen to have a source for this? Maybe we can expand this article with her artistic works. Jcmcc (Talk) 09:54, 9 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Why would you think a "Mathematical Artist" would be limited to "geometrically artistic" works? That's certainly not a constraint used by the Math Association of America's focus group on Arts, nor by the American Math Society's annual competition on Mathematical Art, nor by the Journal of Math and the Arts, nor by the European Society for Mathematics and Art. Of course if you felt some need to limit it to that, you could list papers of hers (and co-authors) on Origami, or the New York Times article on her balloon sculpting of 3D polyhedra, but so far Wikieditors haven't viewed Vi as being quite important enough to justify listing her papers. And, to be honest, most people who are looking her up here are doing so because of her YouTube videos, not because of her math art publications. Several of her "Math Doodling" videos have a substantial amount of mathematical art within them, and her famous Wind and Mr Ug uses the mathematics to drive the plot of the video. And, I should note, video and filmmaking is part of the Wikipedia definition of Visual Arts, a sub-field of Art. Darrah (talk) 18:39, 9 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

k-uniform tilings edit

Hi Darrah, I finished computing colored k-tilings up to 3 from here [1], and computed closed polygons to fill them, as well as duals. Coloring by face sides was easiest, although would be better to color by symmetry positions. They're all indexed from that application, while I've not cross-compared them all to your excellent paper [2]. The 61 3-uniform tilings are a bit overwhelming, but nice to have a visual list. I put it here for now. User:Tomruen/uniform tilings. I also computed dual tilings in alternate rows. Tom Ruen (talk) 07:17, 11 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of interest relating to Beloit College edit

  Hello, Darrah. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Beloit College, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. 32.218.40.156 (talk) 22:32, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Jim Burns edit

Hi, Darrah. I was about to revert your edit to Jim Burns, but Hyperkabob got there before me. It's a different Jim Burns - the artist is 68, not 54. Besides, I've just seen him post on Facebook about his apparent demise. --ColinFine (talk) 18:23, 15 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for catching that!. Darrah (talk) 19:14, 15 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
