Speedy deletion of Confederacy of Brite Meadows edit

A tag has been placed on Confederacy of Brite Meadows requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. The article Isreal Perry has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:43, 26 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Culpeper's Rebellion edit

A tag has been placed on Culpeper's Rebellion requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Proposed deletion of Second Confederate States of America edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Second Confederate States of America, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Lots of OR here, unsourced.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Not deleted edit

I declined the request to delete this article immediately, because the text was not a direct copy of the cited website. However, in its current format, it appears doubtful that the article meets Wikipedia's standards for inclusion in the encyclopedia. I encourage you to review the standards and guidelines linked to in the first message on this page, particularly the need to cite independent, third-party sources to establish the notability of the article's subject. I hope you will improve the article if you are able to do so, before it is deleted. Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 17:02, 27 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Edenton Bell Battery edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Edenton Bell Battery, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No references, and creating editor has not been able to add any. No notability mentioned. Orphaned and uncategorized.

An offer to mentor edit

Hey there. I've added some relevant sources to the article on the Edenton Bell Battery. It's not clear the page will be deleted, but wikipedia encourages users to improve articles during these processes so that participants in the deletion process can weigh the issues more clearly. IMHO, the unit possesses the requisites of notability. I've said so on the Articles for deletion page. If you want help with the page, I'd invite you to learn something yourself about page building and citation. If you agree to the offer, reply here. Then I'll outline what I propose, and you can decide if that seems reasonable. What do you say? You might actually learn something you can share with others, and better defend your next page creation. BusterD (talk) 14:14, 6 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
