Sacramento RT stations

You moved a large number of Sacramento RT stations (e.g. 4th Avenue / Wayne Hultgren) to disambiguated titles, citing "New name complies with naming conventions" as the reason. However, no disambiguation is the standard, only disambiguate when necessary. I haven't found a specific station naming convention at Wikipedia:WikiProject Trains/Manual of style, perhaps somewhere else, but I don't believe that your moves are actually compliant with the naming conventions, and would request that you undo them. Thanks for the swift answer. I read the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Trains#Sacramento RT Station Naming Conventions, where the first reply to you mentions "The user was acting against project naming conventions": which conventions, and why do they contradict the general naming conventions? The station of my example above is called 4th Avenue / Wayne Hultgren, and we have no other articles with this title, so why is a disambiguation needed? Because people don't know from the title what 4th Avenue / Wayne Hultgren is? That is the same with almost every other article, but we don't explain the subject of articles in the title (do you have any idea whether Animal Man is a book, a movie, a concept in Nietzschean philosopohy, a sociological construct, or the nickname of a contortionist?). And that's three times in a row. I'll go and revert your moves for being against our naming conventions, contrary to what you stated but were unable to substantiate. We don't use disambiguation to explain the subject of an article, we use it to disambiguate between different subjects with the same name. City College (Sacramento RT) needs the disambiguation, Watt/Manlove doesn't. (And I don't automatically know what What/Manlove (Sacramento RT) is anymore than I would without the disambiguation, RT is not really the most obvious abbreviation...) Your edit summary stated "Okay, if you're looking for an edit war..." Well, no. There was a stable situation (May 2009 to December 2010), you moved the articles, I undid your changes. This is the normal WP:BRD cycle. The next step would be for you to either recognise your error, or to list them at WP:RM. If you move them again though, you will be starting an edit war. No, you gave incorrect reasons for your actions, refused (and still refuse) to follow normal procedures, and went to friendly local groups to get support instead of looking for a more global support. You don't only write for people who are heavily involved with these articles and for whom jargonesque disambiguators are the best, but for the general public. There is a good reason that our article naming guideline (and practice at other encyclopedias) is different from what you support. Please note the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Trains, which is moving along in a rather friendly manner, and seems to be reaching an acceptable and logical solution, within our guidelines. Sticking vehemently to one solution isn't helping, and neither is misrepresenting the reasons for moving things. Can we please just discuss this as adults and be reasonable? At the now closed NYT discussion, your latest reply was "I suggest you look at Main Line and Springfield Junction again, if you did so in the first place. Those are dab pages with links to LIRR-related subjects, but they're not about stations." Could you please stop pretending that I want to move all stations to undisambiguated names? I never supported that, and never did this in my moves, as you should well know. The discussion is about moving articles where there is currently no primary topic, like Merillon Avenue, to that title (or Merillon Avenue station) instead of a disambiguated one. If we can stick to what is actually being discussed, instead of using extreme strawman arguments, then perhaps something can be achieved (as can be seen at the WPtrains discussions, where most people are actually moving forward towards a solution). Re: Belle Mead

Technically Belle Mead was an NJ Transit station until 1983. NJ Transit was active but not in total control yet. However, their name appeared on commuter rail maps before 1983, so Belle Mead (NJT station) is appropriate. (A good example is Fairmount Avenue, which has the NJT name).Mitch32^{(Transportation Historian)} 17:06, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

List of county roads in Volusia County, Florida

FYI, User:Admrboltz left a tag on List of county roads in Volusia County, Florida labelled "Lead too short." I asked him to show me an example of a list page with a satisfactory lead so I could get some ideas. He pointed me to List of state highways in Utah as an example. So I looked it over, converted/rechewed etc. to come up with a new lead on the Volusia County page. I think it turned out pretty well. Gamweb (talk) 07:12, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

List of all County Maps by Florida DOT

BINGO! I figured there had to be a listing of County Maps ~somewhere~ and I finally ran across the right page today. (I realize they are not always 100% accurate, but its the best reference point we have for citations.) Notice they are available in Large, Medium, and Small sizes. BART problems

Hey DanTD,

I was trying to create a different s-rail terminus here that has the different timing. I also created a link in {{BART stations}} much like the southern Northeast Regional terminal. But the right terminus appears as a big red link and I don't know what to do. (e.g. Richmond Station) Can you figure out what's wrong?
