License tagging for Image:Rick Hendrixf.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Rick Hendrixf.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

UPDATE

edit

As of November 19,2008 I spoke to Claire Ennis of the North Carolina Governors office-(800)662-7952 She stated Rick Hendrix of music received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine at the age of 23.You need to remove your statements concerning Claire Ennis and the Governors office ASAP.You are stating untruths about the Governors list and Rick Hendrix. Not only did Rick Hendrix get these awards, he did it at an unbelievable age of 23. You cant even be considered until you have worked 30 years. Rick Hendrix also received a Cultural Ambassador letter from Governor James Martin on Jan 06,1993 to spread the message beyond the state, country and world. You continue to state James Martin was not Gov. He was Governor Of North Carolina on Jan 06,1993 when he gave Rick Hendrix these honors.

1. I suggest you stick to the facts and not resort to personal attacks. Do not distract from the issues-at-hand by calling my motivation into question. The issues-at-hand surround the content of the article and compliance with Wikipedia guidelines and policies.
2. I have nothing against Rick Hendrix and, in fact, had never heard of him prior to this issue coming up. The only reason I became aware of him was because I help with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine page. The file I have from the Governor's office was sent to me in January 1997 2007. Mr. Hendrix is not in that list. If he did receive the award and was omitted from the list provided by the governor's office, it is no fault of mine. I have emailed Ms. Ennis for clarification. However, what called it into question for me was that it was originally listed as being awarded to him in 1994. When I reverted it with an edit comment explaining that Martin was not governor in 1994, it was added back with a new year of 1993. Surely you can see how this might be questioned.
3. The very lengthy list of "awards timelines and interesting facts" is completely uncited. As per Wikipedia policy, assertions should be cited, with verifiable, reliable sources.
4. Further, the list is way too long. This is an encyclopedia article, not a biography. For Example: "2008 Hendrix notified by Executive Director Dr Ron Black he would be only Baptist if elected Congress" This is an anecdote, not information. What is Ron Black an "Executive Director" of? Why is his comment relevant? What verifiable, reliable source was this quoted from? There are many times like this in the list. It makes the article appear to be more of a resumé or an advertisement promoting Mr Hendrix than an encyclopedia article. ++Arx Fortis (talk) 19:59, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
In follow-up, I received confirmation of Mr. Hendrix's receipt of the award today. The Governor's office attributed him not being on the list to a clerical error. He has been added to their official list. ++Arx Fortis (talk) 20:13, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading File:RickHendrixforcongress.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 18:25, 7 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello Dalestorian,

I noticed you marked an article as a stub using the {{stub}} template. Did you know that there are thousands of stub types that you can use to clarify what type of stub the article is? Properly categorizing stubs is important to the Wikipedia community because it helps various WikiProjects to identify articles that need expansion.

If you have questions about stub sorting, don't hesitate to ask! There is a wealth of stub information on the stub sorting WikiProject, and hundreds of stub sorters. Thanks!
