An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Dean/Milan. Since you had some involvement with the Dean/Milan redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you wish to do so. Utopes (talk / cont) 14:45, 18 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Paleontology in Serbia moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Paleontology in Serbia, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.   Hello, I'm MelbourneStar. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Lorde, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —MelbourneStartalk 15:31, 9 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Lorde, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 17:20, 9 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at "Weird Al" Yankovic, you may be blocked from editing. Elizium23 (talk) 11:41, 12 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

I didn't meant anything bad, Weird Al is of Yugoslav descent and he has Serbian and Slovenian ancestry. I jsut don't het it, how those references work?

Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Married... with Children, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. Categories must also be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 20:28, 19 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

It wasn't mentioned in the article, but Vlade Divac made an appearance in Married... with Children, you can see that on his filmography. DZEI3101 (talk) 13:43, 21 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

That's cool, but to add a category to an article, the text of the article itself needs to support the addition. See WP:CATV. Cheers. DonIago (talk) 12:55, 21 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Edit on Despicable Me

edit

I am going to assume good faith and leave this edit on the change of wording as this accent can be generally categorized as "Eastern European" and not as motivated by the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, as we previously had a similar change like this before. Sorry for this impromptu message -Gouleg🛋️ harass/hound 18:21, 16 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Oh, no! It has nothing to do with politics... I'm sorry if I made any problem. Felonious Gru accent was never specifically stated, yes it can be Russian, but since it was never stated it's best to put Eastern European, which can include Russian, but also, Romanian, Polish, etc... RE: Categories on redirects

edit

Right now there's been an effort on the video game project to clean up redirects that are categorized as they're causing bloat in the categories themselves, and making it harder to ascertain just what articles still need to be worked on. In fact in particular Category:Male video game villains is up for speedy delete due to redundancy.-- Kung Fu Man (talk) 15:59, 30 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Since Zoran Lazarević is only article in Category:Male video game villains I agree it should be deleted, but I don't see why it should be deleted in other categories that have more articles like Category:Fictional mercenaries in video games DZEI3101 (talk) 16:25, 30 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Death Note has philosophical themes so I don't see why Category:Philosophical anime and manga is a problem. DZEI3101 (talk) 16:00, 5 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Categorisation

edit

Hi there. I've reverted this edit because the article was already categorised in Category:History books about the Balkans, which is a sub-category of Category:Works about Balkans, and an article shouldn't usually be in both a parent category and one of its child categories. See WP:CATSPECIFIC on this. Cordless Larry (talk) 19:37, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Categorization

edit

Hello! Category:Fictional European people is a container category, even though it was merged with a non-container category. As a result, articles that were in the merged category should be diffused, where applicable, or removed.

You are welcome to create a "People from fictional European countries" category if that meets Wikipedia standards for WP:CREATECAT but the articles currently in Category:Fictional European people should be removed one way or another.

Vegantics (talk) 17:23, 6 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I think Category:Fictional European people shouldn't be a container category anymore, I personally think it was much better when they were in subcategories (especially for a fictional characters from Eastern Europe) but due to disscusion (Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2023 April 29#Category:Fictional Western European people) Category:Fictional Eastern European people was merged. Yes I can create category "People from fictional European countries" but problem is that Category:Fictional European people features a vast variety of characters, not all of them are from fictional countries, some don't have specified nationality like Baroness (G.I. Joe).DZEI3101 (talk) 17:50, 6 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

This is also the case for other subcategories in Category:Fictional people by continent like Category:Fictional African people DZEI3101 (talk) 17:57, 6 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

I would recommend bringing it to Wikipedia:Categories for discussion then, because reverting edits to place them in categories where they do not meet the criteria is not a good course of action.
