Ascent Media
Thank you for what you do to police changes on wikipedia. My name is Donald McClure. I also just created an account with the username DMAscentCapital. I actually work at this company (now officially known as Ascent Capital Group, Inc.) and have been asked to help update the information on our wikipedia page because it is very out of date. My email address is dmcclure "at" ascentcapitalgroupinc.com and my phone number is three zero three-six two eight-five six 0 five if you would like to get in touch with me or verify in any way.
In this case, I would appreciate it if you would take a look at our website www.ascentcapitalgroupinc.com or www.ascentmedia.com (the old Ascent Media site forwards to the new Ascent Capital site) and at our most recent 10-K that was filed with the SEC (http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1437106/000110465914014180/a14-2776_110k.htm). It describes what we now do, which is to own Monitronics International, a company which operates in the residential security alarm industry. We have no remaining operations in the "creative and technical services to the media and entertainment industries" or "post-production, broadcast media" as it is described on the wikipedia page. This has been true since the February 2011 sale of the global content distribution business to Encompass Digital Media as is listed in our history on the current wikipedia page.
I will be gradually making some changes to this page along with our investor relations team which has in the past used the wikipedia account of ASCMAInvestorRelations. I would appreciate it if you would allow these changes to be made as they are factually accurate and are supported by the information publicly available on our web site and in our filings with the SEC, which are linked to on our web site. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.134.165.131 (talk) 16:25, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hello. Please take some time to read our policy related to editing with a conflict of interest - Cwobeel (talk) 18:30, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- Cwobeel -- I'm not trying to make any claims about anything in the article, just updated the facts to reflect what has been happening in the last few years. If you prefer, I would be happy for you to update the article based on publicly available information. I don't know much about the wikipedia "code" in terms of getting references to work properly or anything, but am happy to point you to the source of any information that we post to the article if you have any questions. Please send me an email at the address noted above for confirmation of anything before you reverse our changes.
- Thanks,
Donald — Preceding unsigned comment added by DMAscentCapital (talk • contribs) 23:33, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

Osel Tenzin
You asked for sources to prove Osel Tenzin died of AIDS. There are many sources online if you Google Osel Tenzin + AIDS. Here are two: www.nancysteinbeck.com (a book by Trungpa students Nancy and John Steinbeck IV) and this from the SI organization itself: http://www.chronicleproject.com/tcs.html I don't know why the AIDS diagnosis disturbs you, unless you want to rewrite history and hide the ugly truth that Tenzin gave AIDS to students by practicing unprotected sex, but your edits constitute vandalism. Please stop. WikiWhip (talk) 13:10, 1 July 2014 (UTC)WikiWhip
- @WikiWhip: If there are sources, then add them to the article. Without sources the material will continue to be deleted per WP:BURDEN - Cwobeel (talk) 13:50, 1 July 2014 (UTC)

Question
Cwobeel, the edits that I posted on Mitt Romney and John McCain were historically accurate and are important to be noted. I have no idea why u consider that vandalism. Please explain. - missionary 1996 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Missionary1996 (talk • contribs) 01:12, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

Removed Update as Vandalism?
Hello Cwobeel,
Could you confirm why you removed my comment on Charles Sitton as vandalism?

Edit cancellation on living dinosaurs page - why?
While I understand the article may have been better beforehand, I still feel a number of edits need to be made to the "Living Dinosaurs" page, more specifically subsection "Dinosaurs and Creationism". While my edit may not have worked, there is still a problem with the page in that the subsection - dinosaurs and creationism - is stated as fact and not quoted, despite the fact that it comes from a religious website. Don't quotations belong around the words? For example it states "In fact, there is no proof whatsoever that the world and its fossil layers are millions of years old." The actual article features no quotes, although this comes from "Answers in Genesis", a clearly biased website. Shouldn't we make sure to distinctly separate objective truth from biased opinion, be it secular or religious? I feel like the nature of the section, which implies humans and dinosaurs co-existed, is not in keeping with the objective, 'fly-on-the-wall' reporting style of wikipedia. I thank you for your time on what I consider a serious academic issue, particularly because the subsection states, as truth, claims which are highly unusual and in contrast to general public consensus, such as the earth being only thousands of years old. These views are fine, but I really think they warrant quotations in order to be academically sound.

@Dirtybidness: that section contradicts WP:OR. It needs to be either deleted or re-written. - Cwobeel (talk) 14:29, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
Cwobeel, I thank you kindly for the clarification.

Disambiguation link notification for July 16
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Cory Gardner, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Plan B. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

More Doug Ose advertising with sockpuppet accounts
Cwobeel,
I was taking a WikiBreak for my studies and I saw that someone had grossly vandalized the Ose page once again with advertising materials that are cited with poor sources, including campaign commercials and editorial blogs. They had uploaded a non-public domain photo from Ose's campaign site, and I think there is a clear conflict of interest with these users and it is time to report it. I think we've tried all we can with stopping it and they refuse to discuss it in the talk page.

"Non-constructive"
Hi Cwobeel, I'm not sure why you think that correcting a grammatical error is a non-constructive edit. "Effect" can be a verb, and this is clearly the verb that was intended, as a subsequent editor noted.173.246.31.139 (talk) 20:57, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Jennifer Rubin (journalist) may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Thank you for your position expressed in your recent edit, but I don't think that reverting in the midst of an edit dispute is the wise course of action. Recent revert to Islam and Antisemitism
Hello,
Thanks for contacting me. I am unsure why you think it is "better", as that is a subjective term. How was it better? The sources are clearly biased, and hence, from an accurate point of view, it was not better. It was biased. Please let me know, otherwise I will need to remove these sections again and perhaps add an explanation in the article itself.
Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nayefc (talk • contribs)
