Please keep in mind that your WP:AUDIENCE is likely laypersons. Also, please use "Sentence case" for section headings, not "Title Case". i.e. Anatomy and morphology and not Anatomy and Morphology See MOS:HEADINGS Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 08:20, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for your efforts here. I have undone part of what you did as it broke several small structures: for instance, we try to begin with the actual title of the article. Also, we don't normally cite in the lead when (as it should) it summarizes what is already explained and cited in the body of the article. Perhaps, too, when something is a "Good Article", or as here indeed a "Featured Article", you could take into account that other reviewers have already carefully and thoroughly checked the text. - Please could you avoid making drastic changes to Featured Articles without discussion: that could be considered disruptive editing. I have reverted your change for now: I and the other editors involved will happily discuss whether change is needed, and will plan with you whatever action is agreed to be needed. Let us start, please, from the knowledge that the article has cleared the FA process (a month of detailed review). Thanking you in advance for your cooperation and understanding in this matter. - I am very sorry. I did not realize this page was monitored by other editors consistently. It is a school assignment to edit certain insect order pages here on Wikipedia and the changes have to be live, not in a sandbox so I made the changes on the live page. From now on, I will be sure to post on the talk page and discuss with the other editors before making any changes. With that being said, I think this page could benefit from a section describing habitat and distribution, as well as the ecological services provided by mantises (since the course I am in is studying the ecological services provided by the various insect orders). The ecological services section will take some time as we collect more research. Again, I apologize for disrupting this page. I meant no harm. - Thank you for explaining. It is important to realize that Wikipedia is a complex community (I think the modern word is ecosystem ...) which contains people from researchers and university professors to teenagers experimenting with vandalism for the first time. The safe assumption is that all pages are monitored by someone; they do not "own" the content but they may well be keen to make it as good as possible, and they are sometimes highly suspicious of strangers!
