Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Dhallewali, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 08:25, 9 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

That was a big question. I'll add a bunch of stuff following this.

"Famous Persons" This should be titled "Notable people" or "Notable residents"
People in such a list need to meet wp:notability (people) They need to have their own Wikipedia article (in most cases).

Avoid "SHOUTING" i.e. wp:allcaps

Use an encyclopedic wp:tone. You should not use wp:puffery i.e. words that give a possibly false sense of notability. i.e. "Jim1138 is a famous, most glorious Wikipedia editor." Should be "Jim1138 is a Wikipedia editor". Whether or not I'm famous and glorious should be established by my record, not by words.

Generally you should avoid honorifics or titles such Choudhary - see wp:honorifics. Albert Einstein, in my opinion would be most worthy of the title "Doctor" or "Dr.". You won't (or shouldn't) see that honorific on his page.

Make sure to link to other important articles. For instance Sialkot District To link, enclose in double brackets [[Sialkot District]] (ignore the nowiki stuff) See wp:linking for more info.

References

edit

Adding references is how we ensure that content is valid. Without references, a reader can not easily validate information and there is no presumption of accuracy. This is covered by the Wikipedia policy of wp:verifiability (WP:V). Please wp:cite your edits with wp:reliable sources (RS). See Help:Referencing for beginners, Help:Citation Style 1 and wp:Inline citations. Per WP:V unsourced content can be removed.

Manual of style

edit

wp:Manual of style This is the big, messy, policy on editing Wikipedia

BTW: I lived near Boisar 1965-1967 with my parents during the construction of the initial Tarapur Atomic Power Station - The two 160 MW reactors.

Hope this helps! Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 09:02, 9 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
