  Hello, I'm Minimac. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Wiles's proof of Fermat's Last Theorem because it did not appear constructive. 'Banned' templates

edit

Please don't add duplicate, or incorrect templates to user pages, such as you did at User:LittleBusters, User:Black Widow and User:JackSarfatti. I have removed the templates which basically stated the users were "banned by Cpsmatthewho4970", since they clearly were not. Please don't make edits like this, as they can cause confusion, and necessitate other editors having to 'clean up' for you. Thanks. Begoontalk 00:21, 12 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your Userpage

edit

Hi

I was just looking at your userpage, and noticed the following userboxes:

  • {{User:UBX/Twinkleadmin}}
  • {{boxboxtop|Ribbons}}
  • {{User:Achowat/Ribbons}}
  • {{Veteran Editor Userbox}}
  • {{User:95j/Rollback and reviewer}}
  • {{User:UBX/vandalized|39}}
  • {{user CVUA|founder}}

Do you think you might be able to remove those, as they all seem to be a little misleading or inaccurate to anyone who goes there to find out about you.

We use userboxes to give other editors information about ourselves, so it's probably not a good idea to have those there, even if you were just experimenting with building a "nice page". It might confuse other editors.

If you need any help, or you think I made a mistake, feel free to ask on my talk page (link in my signature). Thanks. Begoontalk 16:45, 26 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

A Day Late and a Dollar Short

edit

  This is your last warning. The next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at A Day Late and a Dollar Short, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Begoontalk 14:02, 31 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your message

edit

Regarding code from my, or any other user's page - you are welcome to copy it, provided you change it to apply to you, and do not claim things that are untrue and misleading. If it isn't obvious to you what to change then don't copy it.

I note, in passing, that you have done nothing to rectify the false, misleading information I noted above. Please do that now.

My advice would be to stop messing around with your user page and making disruptive edits elsewhere. Otherwise it is fairly likely that someone will decide you are not here to build an encyclopedia, and you may even be blocked from editing. Begoontalk 08:17, 9 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

New deal for page patrollers

edit

Hi Cpsmatthewho4970,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
