Early Conceptions of the Channel Tunnel edit

I am not Zscout370 but I am assuming he hid this text because he fears it may be a copyright violation. The footnotes you provided at the end, are those from the work where you got the material. Is the writing your own words? It doesn't seem quite like the rather breezy, chatty style you affect in talk and on for example the radio station article... if you can provide better sourcing that might help. Please advise of any questions. Note also that this might be a good article section for the main Channel Tunnel article instead of standalone. Engaging authors of that article for help might be a good approach. ++Lar: t/c 14:09, 6 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Regarding talk page messages edit

Regarding this edit - don't. It's showing off, and extremely bad form. You have already broken quite a few guidleines on Wikipedia, as well as crushed Wikiquette quite conclusively - If you want to be a good user, take my advice, and please, please try and keep a low profile! I apologise for the reverts, but I was under the impression that the copyvio hadn't been cleared up - it wasn't mentioned in your edit suummary at all. In regard to your comment on my talk page, though, I can assure you my knowledge of England and France is excellent, as I'm Half English, half French - and with a degree in European History. I'm intrigued though - you seem to be quite an expert yourself if you have books like the ones you mentioned lying around! Are you English yourself? HawkerTyphoon 02:44, 7 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
The reason I'm worried is that I have Memoirs of the Duke of Saint Simon on the Reign of Louis XIV and the Regency in my loft, insured for £350 - where the hell did you get your hands on one of those in the US? They're hard enough to get hold of here! Not even my National University library had a copy, so you can see why we're a bit worried about copyright violations! OMG really? I have them right here. they are Green volumes with gold lettering on the spine. I had no idea they were worth money. My dad gave me a lot of books, I guess I'm kinda spoiled.Courtney Akins 03:07, 7 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Mine is a first edition, I've checked, I'm not sure what yours are - have a look on amazon, books are expensive HawkerTyphoon 02:33, 8 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Take some care please edit

Your recent edits are bordering on incivility. Bragging about Throat Gaggers surviving deletion is quite inappropriate, and the responses you've been giving on various places in reply to legitimate copyright concerns are showing signs of taking things too personally. For a solid contributor with a long standing record, they might slide, but for someone who is on probation, as you are, they raise eyebrows. Please be collegial in your conversation if you would, or your mentorship may not go very well. ++Lar: t/c 11:34, 7 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Archives edit

I moved User talk:Courtney Akins Archive to User talk:Courtney Akins/Archive for you, because the accepted convention for archives (as with any other subpages in user space or user talk space) is to use a slash separator. Also, there conceivably some day could be a user named "Courtney Akins Archive" although I kinda doubt it. ++Lar: t/c 20:59, 7 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Blocked for trolling edit

You have been blocked for a week for this edit. It's obviously inappropriate to step up the intimacy of your comments to Bunchofgrapes in this way. I assume (because I'm done assuming good faith) that was done as a response to his request that you stop calling him "hun". I also see that you claim to know from your own knowledge of Jane Austen's novels that "invasion-related paranoia" is "much evidenced" in them. That's interesting. Compare Talk:Early conceptions of the Channel Tunnel. Please e-mail me and give examples of this theme from the novels, and I will consider shortening your block. I've extended this indefinately. Sorry, Lar. Enough is enough. Nandesuka 03:55, 8 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
