Hi Corpx, what's up? I just wanted to tell you that it's usually not favored to explain your votes in any kind of debate with phrases like "I like it". Just a heads up. ← ANAS Talk? 14:52, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

WikiGnome award

Hi Corpx- You recently opposed my WikiGnome personal user award proposal because it does not really resemble a barnstar. I placed additional comments on the proposal page here that I would appreciate your reviewing in hopes that you would change your position. Also, I am open to suggestions as to how I can make the award more look like existing personal user awards. Thanks. -- Jreferee 20:45, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

nofollow

I know external links are nofollow now. It is still considered spam to add an actual informational link that happens to be on a commercial site?
Obviously if I know it's a nofollow I am not posting a link looking for benefits of linking to an authority site or PR help - that's what spammers are looking for. It certainly isn't for click through traffic, there really is no future in relying on that. The main reason really is to give the anglers something they are actually looking for, use your logic man and common sense - don't over analyze.
Since everything is nofollow now Wiki should consider being a bit more flexible on some of the resources they will accept. I am making an assumption but you probably aren't the outdoors type so you wouldn't know that an up-to-date fishing report is a resource in great demand by anglers that fish for all species, bass or other. Just a thought.
I won't post again but I sure get a little discouraged when I see other commercial sites sit up there for days on end that are nearly identical to a few of my sites. Not counting ESPN, did not mean to delete that really in my haste.
You have a nice weekend. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.10.139.87 (talk) 04:26, 27 January 2007 (UTC).

Your report on 64.53.84.195 to WP:AIV

FYI: [1]

Just wanted to let you know that I removed your report without action because the IP hadn't vandalised since your final warning. I'm not sure if you were using a tool such as VandalProof to make this report, but it's best to wait until an IP has vandalised after the final warning before making the report. Gianna Michaels

Please do not add direct links to xxx videos/pics for sites she has worked for. This can be construed as promotional material for the sites. Corpx 21:29, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

I can understand not publishing the external links but how can you cite sources or references if you won't allow a direct link? - User talk:24.72.109.227
I'm not familiar with the bangbros sites too well, but it should be pretty easy to navigate to her scene once at the site, right? Corpx 01:24, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

If you go to the bangbros website (www.bangbros.com), it will only give you links to their individual sites inlcuding Big Tits, Round Asses (BTRA). With both sites, they have an Adults only warning.

Once you click enter on the BTRA website (www.bigtitsroundasses.com), you are taken to thier pages of most recent models which may or may not include the person we are citing a source or reference to. The link I provided (http://www.bigtitsroundasses.com/t1/pps=skoopy/shoots/btra2316.htm) is the direct link to Gianna's most recent solo shoot with BTRA.

I would suggest that if the sources or references cited are considered as "promotional material", even though they do confirm that she is featured on the website, that the citation tag be removed and it is taken on good faith that she has appeared on the websites listed.

Ivy Queen

Hi i am not sure if this is where i am supposed to contact you but i just wanted to clarify in no way shape or form did i consider my addition to the ivy queen page vandalism. I was careful to use all the proper puncutuation and grammar and it is a valid claim that some people have argued. I thought that was one of wikipedia's main goals, having a diverse array of points of view. Please do not delete my valid edits. Thank you.

Your edit was "It is rumoured that Martha either had a sex change or was born intersexed because of her masculine face, her low-pitched voice, and the curious name of "Ivy Queen" (a common term for transvestites).". You provided no sources to it at all and wikipedia frowns upon "rumors". Corpx 05:18, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Coltmccoy-corpx.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Coltmccoy-corpx.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sorry, it wasn't me that made the edit to Stud inappropriately, it was someone else on my IP address. You can imagine that it was not hard to figure out who it was since he used his name in the edit :-P I've talked to him and he won't do it again. Didn't mean to cause any problems.

Image:Coachfran-corpx.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Coachfran-corpx.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ytny (talk) 18:15, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

WP:AIV reports

Hey! Thanks for your reports to WP:AIV. However, in the future, please make sure that vandals reported have vandalized PAST the final warning. Most recently. User:165.234.180.57 was reported by you. This user has 1 edit today and 1 warning. They may repeat or they may not. Many admins will imemdiatly remove such cases to be reported later if the vandalism continues. Hope this helps and thanks again. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 15:19, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

The user in question had a bv less than 24 hours ago. Isnt that considered vandalism past final warning? Corpx 15:26, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
With that large a gap and it being an anon IP, generally not. There generally needs to be clear evidence that it is the same person commiting the act of vandalism and a gap that large, especially if it is a school ip, is generally not a large enough gap. I generally look for vandalism within 30 minutes, sometimes an hour but not 12 hours or so. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 15:29, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
I have again removed a anon WP:AIV entry that you reported that had not been warned in 2 days. I am not going to notify you again when I do this, but this is just a courtesy letting you know that, if vandals are not approriatly warned, many admin will just remove it from the list. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 17:07, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

A question

Since you're an RC patroller you might know the answer. Corpx, I noticed that you left a final notice on this talk page for spam links. This morning, I noticed that the user had added links to 10 more articles (Special:Contributions/88.231.15.41). I just thought I'd let you know since I was reverting the edits, but I'm unaware of what to do with the user. --Hamitr 17:01, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

I added the spam4 warning after after he/she posted the edit to FuseTalk. So, I was waiting for the user to make 1 more edit after final warning to report. Looks like the spammer has stopped though. Corpx 19:00, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Very well

I'll stop, But I would like you to have an honest read of what I said. Don't just dismiss it as spam, because my intention was for it to be informative. Informative of the negatives of that particular subject.

New picture

Hi Corpx, I hope you are doing well. Thanks very much for uploading the new picture of Godzillatron. It is nice. I want to talk to you about a few points related to the image:

  1. Could you please upload it to Commons instead of Wikipedia? Since it is a free image, it would be useable then across all Wikipedia projects, not just the English project. Other projects may want a shot of a giant high definition video screen. Also, several other languages have articles on UT and on the Longhorns. We have a category on the commons specifically for the 2006 UT football team. It is linked from the bottom of that article. Let me know if you need any help with this.
  2. The image will need better info about its source. If you got it off a web page on HornFans, you will need to provide a URL. You will also need to archive a copy of the permission to use.
  3. It looks like you replaced all instances of the other photo. However, it seems like some variety would be better. I left the new pic on DKR and included both pics on Godzillatron since there is ample space.
  4. When you put the new image on the 2006 team article, you did not change the caption, and the new picture does not illustrate the same points as the old picture (appearance from far side of the field, small version of the six flags). Therefore, I went back to the old picture for this.

Thanks again for uploading the picture. Johntex\talk 15:35, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Actually, there is a school-of-thought that says that a picture like this can't be totally free because the video being shown was presumable copyrighted by someone. That may make my point 1 above a bad idea but my point 2 above to be even more important. When I uploaded Image:Brahma beer advertisement.JPG I originally released it under a free license, but it was determined that it may be better off under fair use since it is showing a copyrighted image. Diligently providing all the documentation will help ensure that this picture does not get deleted. User:Rebelguys2 is active in a lot of image deletion discussions. I recommend you seek his advice. Best, Johntex\talk 15:40, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi Corpx, thanks very much for your reply.
  1. I understand your point about links changing at HornFans, but never-the-less Wikipedia rules absolutely require the source to be specified. Please see Wikipedia:Image use policy. This point is considered so important that it is all bold in the policy. You may not be familiar with how fanatical some Wikipedians are about this. As an example, I suggest you check out this guy and how he spends his time on Wikipedia. He is not alone in his fanaticism, unfortunately. I guarantee you that this wonderful image will run a high-risk of being deleted if the proceedures are not followed to the letter.
  2. Given the climate about these things, I can further guarantee you that someone is going to claim that the image can't be used under a totally free license because the video being shown on the screen is itself copyrighted. Therefore, I recommend you adding the {{fairusin}} template and filling out a detailed fair use justification also. Again, User:Rebelguys2 is a great Longhorn to help you with this.
  3. Concerning the accuracy of the two images, neither of these images is a truly accurate representation of how the scoreboard typically looks in a game. Even in high-def mode, some space is taken up with game-clock and score information, and that is not evident here. I'll upload a third image with a more typical in-game view and then we can have 3 to illustrate various configurations.
On a separate note, did you go to the Spring Scrimmage today and if so, did you take any pictures? Johntex\talk 04:16, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Bummer. We have a good start to 2007 Texas Longhorn football team but a photo from a scrimmage would be nice. Johntex\talk 05:04, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

trying to figure out exactly why you reverted my entry for music loops...it seems there are plenty of other sites listed that could be considered "advertising"...I was providing a link to my page which offers free loops so that people could use them to learn about the makeup of a loop...I don't feel this is right...you deleted my entry, yet you've kept the others...on top of that, you threatened me...real nice way to welcome someone to the Wiki community...jerk.

see? this is what I was talking about...I posted a link to my site under "music loops" (because I offer free loops and I thought it would be a good example)...you deleted it...arbitrarily...within 24 hours of my posting...and you "warn" me...you claimed I was advertsing my site...then, I remind you that there are others (I counted 8) listed in the same area (external links) that I posted in that offer the SAME THING!!! They are promoting their websites which offer music loops..now, you said you'd recommend it for cleanup...but what I don't understand is, if you deleted mine, why not just delete their's? why not be fair? or maybe it's that you're in with a certain group of people and are protecting them...nice...you are not doing a fair job but I'll let you live with that...it's been 3 days and nothing has been done...you (I don't even know who the hell you are) delete my edit, as if you have supreme decision making power as to what's acceptable, and leave the others...and see, here's the thing...I could simply delete the others myself, but I'm not going to be shitty like that...I don't feel I have the right to infringe on someone else's posting...apparently you feel differently.

Thanks!

Thank you for reverting vandalism on my talk page :-) —Cuiviénen 12:46, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Reverted Edit: Lestat de Lioncourt

Hey there! You left me a message regarding my reverting of an edit which I considered contrary to information in the article. The character has been described by the author as being sexually ambiguous, so I felt it was unhelpful for this to be taken out of the article. I am mystified as to why this is wrong, but I´ll assume good faith. I can provide you with links to back up the author´s claims. I feel that the original edit took away from analysis of the character.

You made an error when you reverted an anon's contribution to Michael's article. Michael Andretti IS actually John Andretti's cousin. Their fathers Mario and Aldo Andretti are twin brothers. I have rewritten the articles on all the family's articles to talk about the entire Andretti family. I have included a citation taking about the family becoming the first family to have 4 drivers competing in a single series. I am working towards getting Mario's article to Good Article status. Your WP:AIV report

Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you.

On these grounds, I have removed your report: if you feel this was unwarranted, feel free to contact a Administrator; in addition, I have warned the account.

Kind regards,

it seems to me you have a wrong conception about spam. I've added dentalabroad.com to the dental_tourism page - what made you think the site is commercial? It's just a resource for people searching for dental tourism related info, as long as the site doesn't have any advertising or doesn't ask $ for submissions I don't see why it shouldn't have a link on wikipedia
