Hello, Codyhsieh, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

As Jytdog pointed out in this edit summary your edits are not up to standard. Please don't do this.

  1. You are using Wikipedia as a reference. Wikipedia is not a reliable source.
  2. You are using the US census as a source. It's a primary source and one that should not be used without independent verification. Not only are there errors in it, it's also impossible to say whether this wasn't someone else with the same name. Drawing novel conclusions from primary source documents is against Wikipedia policy.
  3. You shouldn't really use his thesis as a source about this thesis. In addition, the link you included is broken.
  4. According to the editor who reverted your edit, some of the information is incorrect. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 23:20, 14 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
