Your recent edits edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 09:33, 2 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Human Monoculture edit

The article Human Monoculture has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Seems to be an essay presenting synthesis and the author's opinion.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Comments edit

Hi Codestoned. I'll just explain the problems you've been running into and why people are concerned about your editing.

It's a long-established policy that Wikipedia can't contain text which is the writers' opinion or a synthesis merging information from multiple sources to form a conclusion found in none of them - everything should be cited to authenticated experts. When I read text like:

Our current global monoculture, for eyes that perceive light as we do, is visible from what we call outer space. Perhaps our lights are not so bright.

it's impossible not to see this as a personal reflection, and not right for Wikipedia, which isn't a forum for presenting original research. I've seen similar issues on your edits to other articles.

If you know that the term "human monoculture" is used in some form of discussion in some academic field like cultural studies, I would consider a rewrite tightly linked to the sources available. So written more like: "Human monoculture is a term used to describe.... .[source] According to expert Professor [Name], "Human monoculture can be seen as ... ".[source]." You might want to look at some of Wikipedia's best articles to get a sense of how we write on here.

Let me know if you have any thoughts about this. Blythwood (talk) 05:32, 21 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Blythwood. None of this is my head except that last poetic blurb you so kindly deleted. Just behavioral science seminars, recalled others'. I am trying to outsource many ideas, new ones come up. Still have not worked in human migration and RAS enlargement, which sophisticates social structure, hence the general absence of armed conflict against Barbarian colonization only in the Americas. How do you cite neuroscience that supports ideas the colony hates AND fears? By the way! I started the topic as 'Human Monocuture' no 'L' and moved it to Human Monoculture When I click on the disambiguation Fix, nothing happens: (Alice and Bob were poking round if that made a difference) DO my best Since my last 'new' effort changing Region 1 France to US (an idea that took hold at ICAN anyway "We don't care anyway." George, lol) Thank you for your reply, Codestoned — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.85.116.225 (talk) 05:49, 21 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
