Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you.   Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to College of the North Atlantic. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 19:11, 21 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Thank you. Email received:

We have had the account for a year now and did not realize that the username could not represent the college.
Also, why is all this "cracking down" happening now? I mean check out other university and college's wikipedia pages. Places like Memorial University have all kinds of external links on their wikipedia page similar to what we had and we were asked to remove them all except for the official website link.
Question is, how is all this content patrolled?
We just want to make sure the content on the wikipedia page is correct. And as such figured that edits made by a user called "Cna-webmaster" would help people understand what edits are true and what aren't. In the past we have had random people just going in and changing content on the page to be "untrue".

I took the liberty of replying here and adding the content of your email. We prefer all communications in Wikipedia be made public. Email is used for issues that must remain private, like personal information, etc. There are many things wrong with your understanding of how Wikipedia works, as per your actions and email. You seem to want to control the content of the article. Please read Ownership of content to understand that content is public. You can correct inaccuracies as long as you properly source them. You must also read an understand issues of conflict of interest before you continue. I assume you are paid to edit Wikipedia. Therefore you must understand the issues and register properly. Your username, regardless of how long the account has been in existence is a violation of the username policy. The name denotes a position, not an individual. This position can be filled by several people. We want one user per account and password, so the account was blocked from continuing until the issue is resolved. You can request a change of username as detailed in the message above. If you have any questions about how Wikipedia works, please ask at the Tea House. -- Alexf(talk) 13:56, 22 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Also note that your IP Address is not blocked (never was) and you can post to your User Talk Page. -- Alexf(talk) 14:26, 22 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
