So, I've solved your puzzle because my native language is Polish. Though it took several seconds. As for conlang - I share your fascination. Regards :-) Vikom talk 21:56, 20 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Authorities for species names

edit

Hi, I appreciate your work on tidying up spider articles. However, please note that under the ICZN, the authority for a species name where the species is transferred from one genus to another, like Pycnothele labordai‎, does not involve the authors who made the transfer. Instead the authority is always the authors who described the species under its original name, but included in parentheses when transferred. So we have:

  • Bayana labordai Pérez-Miles, Costa & Montes de Oca, 2014
  • Pycnothele labordai (Pérez-Miles, Costa & Montes de Oca, 2014)

In the World Spider Catalog, the list under "Taxonomic references", as here, does not give the authority, but a link to a reference. Please see both subsections of Wikipedia:WikiProject_Spiders/Style guide#Taxoboxes for more guidance. Peter coxhead (talk) 16:15, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

My apologies! I should have thought to check beforehand. Thank you for the correction. kiepier (talk) 14:09, 19 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
