Welcome! edit

Hello, Cheralbyron, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Writing an article on Alexis Lewis for ODU school assignment. Assignment is to write about an unknown woman. Using interview with Alexi Lewis as a big form of information. Need help with citing, and referencing importance. Please help before deleting.

I think you need to re-read page 6 of the Guide for Student Editors again. First-hand interviews are not reliable sources. —C.Fred (talk) 02:38, 17 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Alexis Lewis the Inventor edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Alexis Lewis the Inventor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. • Instead of deleting the article, I have moved it to Draft:Alexis Lewis. You can work on it there without fear of speedy deletion for not assertion significance. —C.Fred (talk) 03:38, 17 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Your article edit

Hi. I noticed that you have run into problems with the article you're trying to create for your class assignment, and I wanted to give you some feedback on how to create an article.

  • You are behind on your training assignments. Getting up to date on these assignments should help you a lot, and they don't take that much time.
  • Work on developing your draft in your sandbox: User:Cheralbyron/sandbox. That way, you can figure out how to get things right without running the risk of having your work deleted.
  • Read through the Editing Wikipedia brochure carefully. It gives you a series of steps to go through that start with helping you determine whether your topic meets Wikipedia's notability requirements, help with article layout, and a checklist to help you determine if your work is ready to go "live".
  • Since you're working on a biography, read the biographies handout as well. It will give you tips on layout and the types of information you should see in a biography.

If you're writing about a living person, it's especially important that you get things right. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:13, 17 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
