Good job writing so far. Good job with your headings.

Remember to add references to your sources. At the end of most sentences in your article, include in parentheses a reference to the source. This will usually be the last name of the author. However, if there is no author, use the first two or three words of the title as your reference.

Refer to the following for overall guidance on writing the article.

User pages are not article pages

edit

It appears that you are using your userpage to develop an article on California slang. While testing things on your userpage is an excellent idea, the specific content that you have is making problems for other pages. In particular, the addition of the category tags to the page is putting your userpage into categories that don't make sense.

We also have to be very cautious about using the our userpages in a way that creates confusion and risks misleading our readers into mistaking userspace content for articlespace content.

I'm going to take the liberty to overwrite the content on your userpage in order to preempt the problems with the categories. If/when you are ready to move this content out to the main article-space, please recover it from the pagehistory and paste it over to the new page. If you would like to continue to work on the draft before posting it to the mainspace, please consider moving it to a subpage of your userspace. (You can do that using the "move" button at the top of the page. Move the page to a new page titled User:Chelly123/foo where "foo" is the name that you foresee for the future article.)

Again, I'm sorry to have to edit your userpage directly. Please contact me if there is anything I can help with. Rossami (talk) 20:59, 14 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
