Speedy deletion nomination of Cat Palmer (artist)

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Cat Palmer (artist), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. E. Fokker (talk) 22:39, 11 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

From Cat Palmer (artist) article talk page

edit

It seems that my article has been tagged for speedy deletion. I've gone through the entire page and have added several sources confirming article content. I am currently tracking down more source information.

This is my first WIKI article. If there is something else I need to do or add to have this articles deletion tag removed please let me know.

Please also note that this is not an autobiography. My username and password may be catpalmer but I simply created that so I could remember it easily. My name is Jessica Rowan. I have no relation to the person in this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Catpalmerartist (talkcontribs) 18:26, January 12, 2011

You need to understand Ms Rowan, that your choice of username of "Catpalmerartist" and your edits being to only this article have editors concerned that you may indeed be Cat Palmer. If that is the case, you need be aware of WP:COI... as while not strictly prohibited as even founder Jimbo Wales edits the article about himself, it is strongly discouraged. But you are in fact NOT Cat Palmer, you should please review Wikipedia:Username policy and give immediate consideration to changing your curent username so that it does not appear to be a conflict. Please refer to Wikipedia:Username policy#Changing your username and Wikipedia:Changing username. Best regards, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 01:17, 15 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but let's keep it simple. Under this username, you haven't yet edited so much. So instead of having yourself renamed (which takes time and is a little complex), just abandon this username and start with a new username that doesn't mention Palmer. In your new user page, briefly mention that you previously used the name Catpalmerartist but that you're not Palmer. If your new name is not a version of your real name, I (or somebody else) will then delete this page or anyway its mention of your real name. -- Hoary (talk) 03:12, 15 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
