ConsumerSearch

This is my first "Talk" attempt so forgive me if it doesn't do right.

Re. ConsumerSearch, I'm not on their staff, but as a freelance writer, have written product reports for them. The info on the reporting process is from their site though, so it's verifiable. I came across ConsumerSearch several years ago when I was reviewing sites for 3clix.com, where I rated websites on various topics I was interested in--sites about woodworking and blacksmithing, other crafts, IT products, etc.

I'm working on a longer article on ConsumerSearch, including some criticisms I've found in press coverage, and some book citations that put the company in an interesting perspective re. the evolution of capitalism. The article will be neutral. If you're wondering why I'm interested in writing it--I'm interested in economic systems, corporate social reponsibility, and whether or not it's possible to reconcile "Shopping Mind" with "Wilderness Mind."

This may be a longer answer than you wanted. My first article was on deep ecologist Dolores LaChapelle, and I guess have a rough plan to go back and forth between contributing to topics having to do more with "wilderness" and topics having to do more with "civilization." That seems to be my life, so maybe by writing about it in a neutral, somewhat scholarly way, I can make sense of it and help others to do so, as well. -- User:Catherine Jo Morgan
