Catherine Jo Morgan is a freelance cartoonist, artist, and writer. Primarily interested in the quality of experiencing, her main focus is bringing the energies of wild nature into western civilization. This is both to evoke transcendent experiencing, and to inspire "subject-to-subject" relationships with all beings. Broad-ranging interests include process philosphy, social psychology, deep ecology, and business, economic, and political models that benefit the earth as a whole. Top values are love, freedom, health, and creative power. Interests focus on practical techniques and tools as well as philosophy and theory.

More specific current interests include the psychology of color, the neurophysiology of aesthetic perception, the gift economy, blacksmithing, sculpture, the vessel form, collage, plant identification, the back to the land movement, architecture and owner-built homes, appropriate technology, dogs and dog training, photography, and all kinds of technical things about studio work and good tools.

Born in 1944 in Muncie, Indiana, Morgan grew up in Champaign, Illinois, earned an A.B. degree at the University of Chicago, then moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1969 where she earned an M.A. in social psychology at Georgia State University. She built a cabin in a wooded area of northeast Georgia and has lived there since 1982.
