José Williams da Silva Mendonça edit

Any sources for information about a particular article, particularly claims related to a living person, must be substantiated by inline citations on that particular article page, not by a claim that "one of the references on another page can verify that statement". Active Banana (talk) 15:13, 6 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia articles are based on common information, not only individual articles, isn't it? I indicated you two reliable sources, other than the one on that page. Why haven't you added them to the article you considered not based on reliable sources, and relaxed to only add the notability tag? Your contribution was unconstructive on this case.Catabv23 (talk) 15:23, 6 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
No. Every article stands alone. There is no way to monitor from what happens on one article to what happens on another article. With such an open editing process as exists on Wikipedia, each claim needs to be support AT THE SITE that the claim is being made in order for anyone to be able to quickly and easily verify the claims made. Active Banana (talk) 15:36, 6 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well i agree with you on that then. But why not bother at all for adding indicated sources and making it good? Catabv23 (talk) 15:41, 6 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
WP:BURDEN it is the responsibility of the person who wants to add or return content to provide the sources, not the reponsibility of the person who says, "hey, there is no source for this claim" Active Banana (talk) 15:53, 6 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Re: Assists edit

Collecting the assists for each player from individual sources and then synthesizing the collected data to a wholly new list is original research and not permitted in Wikipedia (especially read the section "Synthesis of published material that advances a position" of said guideline). If an assists table is to be included, a reliable secondary source is required, for example the official list from the league or, if such a list is not available, a list from a credible and reliable news website (e.g. this list from "the" German football newspaper).

It is a little unfortunate that exactly this list is missing at the LFP website, as everything else – even attendance statistics of all kinds – is available there. If you can find an acceptable (per WP:RS) alternative, the assists list can be kept; if not, the content might be removed at any time as unsourced and OR material. --Soccer-holicI hear voices in my head... 22:48, 24 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Re:2010 WTCC edit

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the page as a whole; the only reason why the columns are smaller is due to no results being in as yet. This is common in all double race series, and will not be attributed until the second race is completed. With the introduction of forced cell widths, you are adding extra pressure on the page by wasting unnecessary bytes on a silly little bit of alignment. When the results go in, the columns work. Simple as that. Regards. Cs-wolves(talk) 00:06, 5 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

However on the counterside, with the extended widths of such cells, the space attributed for the results will reduce due to the forced width for each cell. With no forced width this allows for more space to be ensured when compiling the table. It's not being stubborn, it's just the effective way of showing everything without wasting bandwidth. Proposed deletion of Air shows calendar 2010 edit

The article Air shows calendar 2010 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable and incomplete list of random airshows with no particularly significance, wikipedia is not a random collection of stuff

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.   Thanks for uploading File:Aro-Logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:02, 16 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Logo Universitatea Craiova.png edit

Thank you for uploading File:Logo Universitatea Craiova.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:04, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
