HMS Swordfish edit

I appreciate that you claim to have the original plans. But Conway's All the World's Fighting Ships and Colledge's Ships of the Royal Navy both clearly state the dimensions for Swordfish, with a length in excess of 230 ft, and a beam of about 23 ft. Conway's even provides the draught (14.11 ft) and converts all the measurements to metric (70.5 x 7 x 4.5). There are also pictures in Conway's that depict a vessel that appears well in excess of 76 by 7ft. Both sources also give a surfaced displacement of 932 tons, and Conway's adds a submerged one of 1105 tons. Either your figures are incorrect or something very odd is going on here. Either way please be aware of WP:NOR. The published sources are clear, can we find the figures you claim are correct in any other sources? And please do not remove details that appear to contradict your statement, such as the displacement. If you still feel strongly that you have the right figure, please discuss this before re-adding the claim. Benea (talk) 22:56, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the recent flurry of activity regarding your edits to HMS Swordfish, you might want to swing by Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ships#HMS Swordfish. A few of us are trying to work out why the plans you've uploaded don't match up with the measurements published elsewhere, and I think your input to help sort this mess out would be appreciated. -- saberwyn 00:42, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
