G'day! edit

G'day there, Carpsio, and welcome to Wikipedia! Good authors are always welcome on the project, and I hope you like the place and decide to stick around!

We've got a few pages you might find helpful, such as:

It's all best summed up here: write from a neutral point of view, play nice with others, and don't let the rules get you down.

If you have any questions or need any help, my talkpage is always open for business, or you can see Wikipedia:Newcomers help page. Here's a tip to start you off: if you type four tildes (~~~~) at the end of any messages you leave on talkpages (like this one) Wikipedia will automatically insert your name and the current date and time after your message. Cool, eh? Happy editing! fuddlemark (befuddle me!) 10:06, 31 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Different types of commercial topsoil edit

Based on the external links policy, with particular attention to No. 5 under "Links normally to be avoided", I moved the following external link: Different types of commercial topsoil from the article: Topsoil to its talk page.

Commercial links are sometimes constructive but not all that often; this situation only occurs when it is a cited source of encyclopedic content about the subject at the site, but not when the primary purpose of the external site is to sell something related to the Wikipedia article. -- Paleorthid 16:28, 7 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Peter Sutcliffe Google Earth overlay edit

I very much like the overlay. I can help pinpoint some of the locations more accurately. Most of which I have visited and photographed in the past few years. The only major error is that you have the Barbara Leach location in Leeds and not Bradford. -- Phildav76 00:15, 24 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band edit

I have removed your edit as it breaches policy. Argue on the Talk page, if you like. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 17:04, 5 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

You know, sometimes this is why I despair of Wikipedia... people dragging up 'policy' in the name of silly things like this. "Pepper" could equally be either be a conceit or a concept - and it has nothing to do with a "point of view" - there's no politics or personal agenda being pushed here... just the use of a word. Anyway - I won't argue the toss... a concept it is. Peace. Carpsio (talk) 09:06, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for July 18 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Paulie Pennino, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Birthday present. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
