Patty Cannon and Cannon's Ferry edit

Hi! Welcome to Wikipedia. I took a look at your first article -- very nice. Although (... sigh), I couldn't resist playing with the format and adding a Delaware stub notice. This will sort the article with other Delaware related material and alert editors that it is a short article that could use more/expanded material. There are all types of stub markers programmed into Wiki, so try to attach one when creating new short articles. Thanks for your input on the Patty Cannon article - it is an interesting little historical item. A current picture of the site (and maybe the ferry site as well) would be a nice addition. So, I would appreciate your effort. Look forward to working with you in the future. WBardwin 05:13, 28 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Protecting your userboxes edit

Because of the current campaign against userboxes, it's pretty likely that many of your boxes are going to get deleted from their template space soon (especially your Flying Spaghetti Monsterism box, but in general, any boxes that could be considered to express a point of view someone might disagree with). These templates could very possibly be deleted in the next week or two. The best (and really, only) way to protect those userboxes is to perform a "substitute" command on each one of them, which will put the code directly into your page, instead of calling on the template every time your page is loaded. That way, when the template is deleted, it has no effect on the code resident on your page.

In order to do this, go into your user page, and wherever you have a template, insert "subst" inside the brackets. So,

{{template name}} becomes {{subst:template name}}

and your userboxes will all take up residence on your page. Sometimes this makes the formatting funky, and will require some tweaking in the code to restore the layout of your boxes as they were before. If you have any questions about this, please drop me a line. Regards, JDoorjam Talk 23:24, 19 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

template:user fsm edit

I'm calling out a posse, to fight for freedom of choice, to fight all those who think that only their opinion's right, template:user fsm was speedy deleted by an administrator without any cause or even discussion, I'm therefore putting it up for undeletion since people have put a jihad out against opinions in userboxes. As you were one of many people using the template, I'm trying to rally you into the posse. If you think the template should be returned to active status, put in a vote at Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Userbox_debates#template:user_fsm. Janizary 04:26, 22 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:CapeTower.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:CapeTower.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:29, 14 April 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECUtalk 00:29, 14 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
