You need to slow down. I've just spent 30 minutes cleaning up your unsourced and half-sourced edits, and one edit sourced to an article you wrote yourself. I'm cautioning you to stop. Magnolia677 (talk) 23:52, 1 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello, CarlyRheilan, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits did not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may have been removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations verified in reliable, reputable print or online sources or in other reliable media. Always provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask a question on your talk page. Again, welcome.  Magnolia677 (talk) 10:23, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Mississippi State Penitentiary

edit

Thank you for your message on my talk page. I've just spent another 30 minutes cleaning up your edits. Let me be specific. If you say "The grape juice contains A, B, and C", but the source you cite only discusses A and B, then you can't mention C. Even if you know the juice contains C, you need a source to support your edit. Also, you can't just add stuff without a source, even if you know it's true; Wikipedia does not accept original research. Also, if you find a website that has four different sources, you can't link to that website and say "the conclusion of these four sources is", because that would be a syntheses. I have no issue with the information you are adding; this prison is a mess. My concern is with the quality of this Wikipedia article, and assuring that the sources cited support the content within the article. I urge you to read Help:Referencing for beginners, and to use your sandbox for test edits. Feel free to ask questions. But continuing to add unsourced or poorly sourced content after numerous warnings will get you into hot water. Thank you! Magnolia677 (talk) 11:18, 2 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
