Welcome!

Hello, Carla Knapp, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome!

Hello, I'm RA0808. I noticed that you removed topically-relevant content from Indianapolis Zoo. However, Wikipedia is not censored to remove content that might be considered objectionable. Please do not remove or censor information that directly relates to the subject of the article. If the content in question involves images, you have the option to configure Wikipedia to hide images that you may find offensive. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Hi. I'm the Public Relations Specialist at the Indianapolis Zoo [1] and I'm trying to update the content on the Zoo's Wikipedia page. However, I've never done this before so I apologize if I did something wrong. Having reviewed the content on the Indianapolis Zoo page, it is very outdated and some of it is incorrect. Also the organization is a little confusing. Would it be better to submit the link to our online media kit for someone else to make changes? I'm happy to have any feedback on how to properly update the content. Thanks Carla Knapp (talk) 19:07, 23 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hi Carla, and welcome to Wiki! I've added a more formal welcome template above but I'd like to welcome you in my own words, too. It's great that you want to improve the content on the Indianapolis Zoo page so that it is more up to date, however please note that Wikipedia has rules regarding conflicts of interest (click the link to read). Because of your connection to the zoo it means that you have a conflict of interest in editing that article. You can request changes to the text of the article at the article's talk page (Talk:Indianapolis Zoo) using the {{request edit}} template, you can be as detailed as you like, and other editors will approve and make the change for you. Please note that before you request changes you are required to declare your conflict of interest (click the link for explanations on how to do that).
Now this next part is very important. You are the Public Relations Specialist for the zoo, and therefore these edits are conceivably part of your job as part of the PR team. The Terms of Use of the Wikimedia Foundation (Wikipedia's parent organization) state that users of Wikipedia and all other WMF products "must disclose [their] employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which [they] receive, or expect to receive, compensation". This is a very serious policy so you should review Wikipedia's legal policy on paid-contribution disclosure and ensure that you follow it.
Please don't let this scare you off from editing, you are still free to edit elsewhere on Wiki and help improve the project! You can find plenty of information in Wikipedia's help pages, and there are always friendly editors at the Wikipedia Teahouse willing to answer questions and help you integrate into the community here. (P.S.: To help me see your responses begin them with {{reply to|RA0808}} so that an alert pops up on my screen) Cheers! RA0808 talkcontribs 01:18, 6 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
