Jack Wong Sue 'lies' post edit

I have just deleted this post as it appears to be an attack on a living person based on your own research or information you have received from an unpublished source. Wikipedia is not an appropriate place to post original research or comment on other people's integrity and you will be blocked if this happens again. Nick-D (talk) 12:07, 17 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Actually, I'm very sorry about this; from checking the article's edit history I was mistaken about the source of the material - another editor posted it in the article and you removed it and posted in on the article's talk page. Sorry again. Nick-D (talk) 12:32, 17 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Please also note that I have deleted some of your other posts from this article's talk page. This was done only to ensure that no part of this discussion was visible - these posts were not troublesome. Nick-D (talk) 12:35, 17 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Nick. CheersCanberraBulldog (talk) 22:01, 17 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Warning edit

I've just removed, and revision deleted, the post you added to Talk:Z Special Unit. Wikipedia is not a suitable place to post material criticising the honesty of someone which was sourced from what appears to be, for Wikipedia's purposes, an unreliable source. You will be blocked if this ever happens again. On the basis of your contributions it appears that you have a personal connection with either Z Special Force and/or its veterans association (I note, in particular, this comment). This is not a suitable website for you to follow up on related issues. Nick-D (talk) 08:09, 28 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Excuse me Nick, I think you are mistaken and jumping to conclusions. What I posted was an article about Z Special, not the person in question. IF you read the whole article I removed the persons name BUT included the source to show I did not make it up.

I may have a personal connection but I'm sure a majority of people have personal connections with Wikipedia articles.

Nick, I respect your work on Wikipedia and your knowledge but take exception to your heavy handed use of words and threats to block me - I believe what I added to the talk page was correct but also believe what you have said about the source used is correct also, so my question is - is it okay if the info is placed back about Z Special and how it was formed BUT not including the reference?

CheersCanberraBulldog (talk) 08:31, 28 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

The material you posted from that website included a paragraph which named the person in question and then went on to attack their integrity in no uncertain terms. If you are unhappy with my action here you may, of course, ask other admins to review it at WP:AN or WP:ANI, but this is pretty cut and dried on the basis of what was in the post. The website is not a reliable source and is a highly unsuitable link due to its content, though I note that the Oxford Companion to Australian Military History provides a similar summary of Z Special Force's role and Alan Powell's excellent book War by Stealth should provide in-depth coverage. Nick-D (talk) 08:41, 28 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Nick, I tried to look back at what I wrote but couldn't, knowing me I probably did put the fella's name in - what I meant to put in was just and only info about Z Special's formation. I will use the reference's you mention, thank you for that. CheersCanberraBulldog (talk) 08:59, 28 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

OK, no worries. I assume it was a copy and pasting problem, but do take care. I think that you'd find Powell's book to be really interesting - it's a serious, and highly detailed, account of Australia's special operatives during World War II. Nick-D (talk) 10:03, 28 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Edit rolled back edit

Why was my edit at St. Francis Xavier College (Canberra) rolled back due to vandalism? There was 0% vandalism caused by me, and it was just an update of the staffing, and fix of a couple errors. The edit was done by my IP, not me as I was not logged in at the time. -- 7654321chris (talk) 13:38, 21 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Well it was not vandalism, Angus M Tulley is identified as the principal on the school web site, so is there a source for the changed P and VP? Also there was a spelling mistake "abhreaved". Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:27, 21 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I rolled back the vandalism but not of yours 7654321chris BUT by an IP - I think you better check the history again. CheersCanberraBulldog (talk) 06:48, 22 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

The edit was actually from my IP. 202.46.143.62 belongs to me. -- 7654321chris (talk) 11:48, 22 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Well looking at it you rolled back vandalisim but had the wrong Principal and Assistant Principal and what Graeme said.125.7.63.177 (talk) 02:51, 23 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks random IP. CheersCanberraBulldog (talk) 09:41, 23 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

That is the third time you have removed the material, please note WP:3RR you may be block if you continue to removed sourced material. ALso please let discussion take place on the talk page rather than edit warring Gnangarra 13:29, 16 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
