Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:2013 Central and Eastern Canada ice storm are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. Happy New Year! However, talk pages are not a forum per WP:NOTFORUM. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 19:13, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Thank you. I know I shouldn't have done that, but I just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year. Sorry. CanadianDude1 (talk) 20:36, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Adoption

You requested adoption from me, but I'm still not sure of your goals. Could you please articulate what those are? If you are looking for help on specific articles, but are otherwise willing to learn as you go, then adoption is not the appropriate program. You can simply ask questions of myself, or anyone else as they come up.

If you still seek adoption, please paint me a picture of where you are now and where you would like to be in 90 days.- MrX 14:09, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

I guess I'm willing to learn as I go. Well, then you don't need to adopt me. I just need one more thing. I'm creating a new article in my sandbox and I'm wondering if I'm violating copyright laws by using links from prevnet.ca. Can you please answer that question? Thanks for the clarification. I think a list of partners would be pretty clearly fair use under US copyright law, so I don't see it as a problem. Here is the guideline and policy WP:Non-free content.
Having said that though, I don't see the encyclopedic value of including a raw list of the organization's partners. In any case, you will also want to make sure the subject is Notable (see WP:ORG) before publishing the article. You can do this by adding additional citations from independent reliable sources. - MrX 19:57, 2 January 2014 (UTC)
Thanks. I will expand on the article and look for things that will make the organization notable. CanadianDude1 (talk) 20:11, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

Reliable sources

Hi CanadianDude1, please note that I have reverted your addition of a birthdate at Dylan Everett. Compendia-type websites such as "famousbirthdays.com" do not meet the reliable sourcing criteria for biogrpahy articles. If you are able to find the actual birthdate in a reliable third-party source (such as a newspaper article or magazine), then please restore the date along with the source. Thank you, --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 19:42, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 13

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Next Step (2013 TV series), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Astral (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
