Welcome! edit

Hello, Calicoprinter, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Nigel Paterson (musician), may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

WP:BIO should tell you what the article needs to contain: either multiple, in-depth secondary sources about the subject, or evidence of meeting any of the special criteria of WP:ARTIST. Let me know if you have any questions. --McGeddon (talk) 11:41, 4 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your work on the article. If I'm reading it correctly, though, the current sources are The Halliard's books and CDs (which confirm Paterson was part of the band), an Andrew Lloyd-Webber album (which lists him as a guitarist), and a list of books Paterson wrote himself? If so, these are all WP:PRIMARY sources - we can use them to confirm the facts, but we shouldn't "base an entire article on primary sources". Can you find any secondary sources about Paterson, such as newspaper articles about him, or more-than-passing mentions in books about music? --McGeddon (talk) 11:34, 5 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, that's all it needs. I've cleaned up the Telegraph reference to include a link to the article and correct its writer (the article was written by Richard Madeley, not Nigel Paterson) - I can't do the same for the others as they're presumably not online anywhere. Seems fine otherwise. --McGeddon (talk) 13:16, 5 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello,
A long time since I've been in touch. I can't edit "Nigel Paterson (Musician) because I use Apple Private Relay. The editing block seems a mite unfair as I regularly donate to Wikipedia via a bank transfer. Is it within your power to lift the block, please. As far as I can tell, "Nigel Paterson (Musician) is, in all other respects, in good order, but it does require updating,
Most Sincerely,
