I was just about to reply to your PDF question when it got archived.

You can create references/citations manually.

If the PDF link automatically downloads when you click on it, then right click on the link instead, copy it, and paste it in the URL section when you create a manual reference.

You create a manual reference by pressing "cite," then "manual" then the type of reference website/book/news/journal. I always pick website 99% of the time, as all the references I use are online. Then you add all the other stuff available like URL access date, source date, title, writers names, name of website, date of publication, publisher, ISBN, pages etc before finishing by pressing "Insert" just like you would with an automatically created reference.
