AfD

edit

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages. The notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism. If you oppose the deletion of an article, you may comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. AmiDaniel (Talk) 06:37, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

As I explain here and here, you have done nothing wrong; though removing an AfD or speedy deletion tag is inappropriate, removing a PROD tag is altogether consistent with the letter of WP:PROD and the spirit underlying the PROD policy. Joe 20:21, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
I apologize for my mistake. I had just finished restoring a long series of speedy and AfD tags that were wrongfully deleted by editors, and so I didn't even think twice when restoring this one and placing that warning on your talk page. It is entirely legitimate to delete a PROD tag and thereby to contest an article's deletion, and doing so is by no means vandalism. Seeing as you have contested the aricle's deletion, I've just nominated it for AfD, and you can make your case for preserving the article on its sub-page. Again, I apoligize, and I hope this won't deter you from contributing to Wikipedia in the futute. AmiDaniel (Talk) 23:38, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

My Apologies Regarding Why Make Clocks

edit

I would like to once again apologize for my failure to follow policy in reprodding this article, and for my rudeness in warning you against deleting PROD tags. After reviewing your statement on the article's AfD entry, I have changed my vote to keep, although I disagree with many aspects of this article. As you might be aware, writing articles about yourself or projects in which you are involved is strongly discouraged on Wikipedia (see WP:BIO), and I still feel that the article lacks a clear assertion of notability. Nonetheless, I believe the article will most likely survive its AfD nomination, and I hope you will continue to expand this article and others in the future. Please don't let this dispute or our distracting policies discourage you from contributing to Wikipedia--you are most certainly welcome here. If you ever have any questions, I will be more than happy to help. AmiDaniel (Talk) 08:15, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dan Hutchison

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Dan Hutchison, because another editor is suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page.
