- Hi Bunnrio, I have had a look at the chart that you were referring to. The reason why the list of confirmed cases is lower than the list of recoveries is because the New Zealand Ministry of Health, for their own reasons, have differentiated cases into confirmed and probable. Adding the number of confirmed and probable cases should give you the total number of cases. I myself don't understand the Health Ministry's policies but we on Wikipedia have to follow the official designations and procedures. Hope this helps clarify the situation.
