Thank you for your patience- this is a different world for me and I have a lot to learn- insights and help are greatly appreciated. Buckwheatandgrits (talk) 23:38, 27 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

The first inset box on the article for Determinism seems to me to misrepresent the nature of the subject; determinism, I'm pretty sure, does not assert that the future is predictable at all, only that everything in the universe happens because of some antecedent cause(s) (however unknowable). However many various determinist philosophers have averred this hypothetically predictable (mechanistic) view is of no consequence and doesn't make this view a deterministic one; i.e., some determinists believe the future could (hypothetically) be predicted, but just because someone doesn't believe this doesn't mean they aren't a determinist. I haven't even read the article fully yet... I've just noticed this right off the bat. In fact, Karl Popper, in "The Open Universe", I think totally disproves the notion that any event in the future could be predicted with any specified degree of precision, though he himself admits that he has not disproved determinism ontologically. I'll work this out better a little later- determinism is a pet subject for me and I think the entry could use work! Notability of Andy Paiko

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Andy Paiko, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Andy Paiko seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Andy Paiko, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Hangon tag

Another editor added the speedy delete tag to Andy Paiko. I saw your note on the talk page, so I've gone ahead and added the hangon tag for you which notifies administrators that you want to contest the deletion and work on this article. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Andy Paiko has been reverted.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \byoutube\.com (links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzyb1o9yruc). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. Video links are also strongly deprecated by our guidelines for external links, partly because they're useless to people with slow internet connections.

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page.
