Speedy deletion nomination of File:Batterseamappng-full.jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Batterseamappng-full.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

Battersea coords

Your most recent update overwrote the coords produced by the infobox template. Please at least check your edits to make sure they don't break the page. Nor do I think that pointing to the Falcon crossroads is a better idea than pointing to the rough centre of the Battersea area as defined in the article - which is what the current infobox coordinates do. The logic is to get the map to show the area described in the article, not to have the eastern end hidden and half of Wandsworth displayed by using an off-centre coord. --Tagishsimon (talk) 21:27, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

1. Can we be clear that your edits to Battersea and to Clapham broke both pages, because adding a {{coord}} to a page which has coordinates in {{infobox UK place}} causes two coordinates to be written to the top right of the page, one overwriting the other. If you want to change to coords, you need to update those in the infobox, and not add a new {{coord}}. 2. Your message to me confuses me in this respect. You talk about the extent of the boundaries. You then make the claim that CJ is the centre of Battersea. Looking at the boundary map on http://www.lovebattersea.org.uk/ there's no way that the Falcon crossroads is the centre. I'll play with the map some more, but I'm still in want of convincing that your proposed coord change is warranted. --Tagishsimon (talk) 21:48, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

OK, I'm more convinced now. I get the centre (based on mid(MaxX-MinX,MaxY-MinY) to be something like the intersection of Lavender Hill and Lavender Walk - not what I'd expected. So, umm, good call, Brycewiki. Still doesn't feel right ... something in the railway triangle under the first A of Battersea, in the lovebattersea map, feels better. The problem I have with this edit is that it loses the sense previously conveyed, that the area around the station took the name of the station. Now it merely says "the station encouraged the buildings to be built around the station." --Tagishsimon (talk) 22:06, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
