The Wikipedia Service Pledge edit
As I am still a student, I unfortunately have very little spare cash to donate to Wikipedia. Thus, I thought I could offer my support by creating an account and editing pages. Special thanks to Jimmy Wales for creating such a fantastic resource of knowledge. And may Wikipedia always remain the free encyclopedia.
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Darrelle Revis. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. I would like to clarify at this time that my edits on the evening of 12 March 2014 we're not the result of an edit war, but instead my attempt to mitigate the blatant vandalism on the Darrelle Revis page in light of his signing with the New England Patriots. If one examines the logs, I engaged with several other users in minimizing such vandalism and properly reporting those parties involved. While there was some disagreement as to the nature of the content of the page, this was quickly resolved by myself and another editor, and ultimately did not result in an edit war of any kind. I thank you for bringing this matter to my attention, and I hope careful examination of the page's edit logs will be sufficient evidence that I am forthright in my explanation.
