Image on Ygo Gales Galama entry

Hello Bornestera, As far as I am aware Ygo Gales Galama was never Potestate of Friesland. The image you have inserted relates to an ancestor of Ygo Gales Galama known as Ygo II Galama (Igo Galema, died 910) who was infact the fifth Potestate of Friesland.

Pushing the "Lord's Prayer" as a language example tekst

Hello Topbanana, In the Dutch Wiki I am having a really heavy fight on the removal of the "Lord's Prayer" as a language example. A couple of religious persons are not interested in motivation or real arguments (they don't have any). So a Moderator blocks me every time for something which is not in essence anti-Religious. I exchanged the prayer for the first 3 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In older fights I quoted a professor of history regarding a saint, also on the English Wiki I've added another view, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Saint_Boniface. Glad to hear you have found a cause to champion. I am neither a linguist nor a theologian, and so can't offer an expert opinion on what a "neutral language example" might be. Also not sure why you want opinions; if I disagree with your contributions to wikipedia I'll go change 'em, otherwise I'll leave well alone. Tierck Hiddes de Vries

Can you help me with this article? He was a famous naval hero, as can be seen on both he Frisian and the Dutch wikipedia, and that way deserves an article on wikipedia!!! Murlock 10:19, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

At first: You got the name wrong: it must be Tjerk, not Tierck. I suppose occasionally somebody wrote Tierck, but thats wrong. See [marineship] and [Fregat F830] Kan you read dutch ? Translate the Dutch version. Bornestera 19:11, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

In the middle ages i and j were not distinguished as separate letters, also spelling was not standard so -k and -ck would be equvalent as they would have sounded the same. so Tierck, Tjerck or Tierk may have used back then. I will rename this article. GB 01:10, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Neil's big delete

Hi Bornestera

It looks like you are confusing me with Neil! I was opposed to deleting the articles on the Galama family etc from the English wikipedia, and I am in favour of recreating the articles with supportable content. Neil was removing text that I put into the Pier Gerlofs Donia article. However I do not appreciate totally fictitious but believable articles. I was only asking if the articles were bogus or not, I was hoping for not bogus as an answer! But instead Neil has no special access for Dutch and Frisian wikipedia, so I can check myself as well as Neil can. I have also recreated Haring Harinxma page - as a stub at this point. Hi Bornestera

I too am a bit concerned about what appears to be some some excessive deletions regarding Frisian information. I think the best way to fix this is to list detailed references as requested. I have located some approx 200 year old references (which also quote references from the 16C) of reputable authors that refer to Ige (Igo Joukes) Galama and several other Frisian nobels and their part in the first crusade. I will put this under 'Frisian Crusaders' on wikipedia asap and include references and page numbers asap. The original details are in dutch which I will translate to English as best I can.Ezza61 04:47, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Neil has deleted many articles, I know, and others did the same, just because he couldn't read the Frisian references!?! But another editor, Chris Kreider, as undeleted a lot of 'em.

Hi Bornestera, Have started Frisian Crusaders article with a reference, Occo is the source (there is a lot more useful material in this text regarding the crusades), Igo Galama gets a mention. Remember that image that was removed was Igo II Galama the fifth Potestate who is an ancestor of the Ige (Ygo) Galama the crusader. They are different people.Ezza61 03:25, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

I have created articles on some of the topics you mention on your user page Frisian freedom, Karelsprivilege and Magnus Forteman. There has only been very minor tampering with these azrticles, and it seems that you may know more than me about sources. Perhaps you could return and improve these articles. Thanks Bartlett, but I don't spend valuable time on a project where liars and their lynching mob succeed in pushing a single sided view of history. First I want a decision or an judgment about unshamed removal of valid sources.
