Windhoek Katutura Single Quarters

edit

Katutura Single Quarters is a small business Enterprise (open market) situated in the township of Windhoek, Khomas Region, Namibia. It provides various kinds of services. It has been running for years now and caters for people both young and old.

Food
edit

As you approach the open market, the smell of kapana pungent, your mouth will begin to water. The bodies of raw cattle are hanging about, flies buzzing and moving from stand to stand. Some of the meat is in the process of being prepared to be grilled. The Quarters are very famous for the Kapana, beef and goat meat, which is grilled and cut into bite-sized chucks and sold at N$2,00. With that, you can get some Salsa (sauce) and traditional Oshiwambo bread or Vetkoek. If you don't want to get some takeout, alternately you can get some dried Mopane worms, Traditional Oshiwambo chicken, dried spinach(Ekaka) to cook and eat at a later stage or maybe quench your thirst with some ice cold Oshikundu. They also have a Restaurant for those who would just love to grab a seat and indulge in something other than traditional

Services
edit

On the left side of the Quarters, there are many services you can have provided to you. Some of these include, getting a Manicure, Pedicure or getting you hair done at a relatively cheap price. You can also have any traditional dresses made to best suit your preference provided that you supply the material. If you have a broken Television or Radio that is gathering dust, they fix just about everything and anything and they make key copies too!

Leisure and Entertainment
edit

Whilst waiting for your services to be provided, you can enjoy a game of Snooker or grab an ice cold beer, cold drink at the restaurant where you can also catch up o happier times with some of the friendly Windhoekers.
